gpt3 post

If it is just for linux then gtk but if it is multi-platform then qt. GTK is more just werks and less of a bloated headache to deal with imo. This isnt to mention the fact that KDE can make gtk stuff look native but all of the gtk desktops cannot do the same for qt

both, they are both useful

winui

>doesn't give us the language he knows/uses
>doesn't give us any real information

Flamewar bait. Move on.

srry
I can write in python and c++(somewhat but rather not)
Learning flutter.
found both since I wanted to start making apps with gui, thought flutter would be enough, but half of the dependencies I need or use are still ony available for android and ios since flutter for desktop is still in beta phase, so in the meantime I want to learn one or the other.

They're both bloated pieces of shit, but if you want both Windows and Linux save yourself the headache and use QT.

If you're doing Linux exclusively, GTK.

is qt propietary?

Cocoa

No

Both have GPL licenses. So the licensing shouldn't matter in the decision. Personally I use NsCDE on linux and dual boot with Windows, and by default NsCDE seems to prefer the QT stuff plus is easy cross platform, I can just take any PyQT front end and plop it on my Win partition, so I prefer Qt but if can be heavier than Gtk.
The decision is certainly a personal one.

gtk if you like a simpl api but the docs are kinda hard and not many examples for gtk4 nor does it have as many features as qt5.
qt5 if you want a marketable skill. Python bindings are good c++ isn't that hard to use.
Gtk has a bunch of designer tools like glade, etc. but they all kinda suck.

GTK is better, because you can use C with it. Qt is a C++ library.

even without this you should use Qt, gtk is cancer

it has a dual-license, use the free version

Never heard of this. Thanks for sharing, user
