how much of a gamble is it to buy an old 2nd hand mobo, something like a z97 or x99? just trying to bide my time waiting for new shit and price drops until later this year, so I can hop on to current-ish gen
I'm not sure what you could do to make sure it's not DOA, except to see it running yourself as long as whoever you're buying from doesn't seem like they're going to fuck you over with a busted motherboard it's probably fine

lrices are never going down. I have observed that as items recently sold out are restocked, they are charging more. Specifically AM4 motherboards. They should be discounting them but they are already raising prices in anticipation of scalping discontinued technology
