Is dark mode based or cringe?

Both.

cringe, used by zoomers with weakened eyes due to poor food quality

Total cringe. Solarized light is peak theming and the Plan 9 masters knew it.

Based, can be cringe sometimes

only hating one or the other for meme reasons is cringe
everything else is based

It depends on the display you're using, or the lighting conditions of the room.
If you're in an office with lots of outdoor daylight pouring in, dark themes can be easier to read than light themes because of the contrast favouring the text.

>enable dark theme
>open literally any program
>draws a pure white blank screen on first frame
thanks

Good after the sunset.
If you're using dark mode 24/7, it's extreme cringe.

GIVE ME GREY MODE, black text on grey background is objectively the easiest to look at for long periods.

Also this lmao. The fucking hacks.

Having any of these 24/7 is cringe.
The best solution for me is an "Auto" option which switches the theme based on the time of day (e.g. Light theme at 8 am, switches to dark theme at 8 pm.)
I am surprised that windows did not have this AFAIK, I had to use a third party solution.

if background is too dark and text is white then it’s cringe

if backgrounders is dark grey and text is light gray then it’s based

I do auto desu

makes battery last longer with OLED

Cringe, the problem is that zoomers made "regular" modes be pure blinding white instead of a gradiant.

Agreed, gray mode is best

Also, I like dark mode for low-light environments (evening when I'm trying to wind down), and I find it jarring to switch between light and dark modes, so I just permanently keep dark mode on.

Unreadable garbage. Fuck google for forcing this shit every time I clear my cookies just because my taskbar is black

dark themes doesn't, pure black ones do

Cringe in day based in night

Color "modes" are cringe, just install a dark theme and call it a day.

Dark sounds cool. Like dark web and stuff.

dark mode is great, unless you're a old person or a pajeet
