>Budget 1080p: RX 6500XT Why is RTX 3050 not here? Assuming you have an uncle who works at Nvidia who can get you that for $249 MSRP
Sebastian Gutierrez
If I'm going to do that I'll wait for the 5800X3D unless it actually ends up releasing for the $500+ everyone keeps memeing
Gavin Harris
Cause it was a paper release and they don't exist

RX 6600 vs RTX 3060 Do I lose anything of value by going with AMD here vs Nvidia? Just want a definitive 1080p card as best bang for the buck. Going to be paired with i7-4770 from million years ago so 6500xt is out of the question(pcie limitation).
>RTX performance don't care >DLSS 1080p anyway so whatever >3060 is capable of spewing a few more fps whatever, the 6600 can play all the games at 1080p60 anyway and over 60fps my CPU is going to bottleneck probably >RTX 3050 pricing is dogshit, 6600 better value, at least in my country right now
I've heard in the past things that AMD's drivers are shit, or the media engine (decode/encode) is inferior to Nvidia's. Is it true? Again, Haswell CPU so HW accel media playback is kinda important here. Supposedly rdna 2 has AV1 decoding - is it good? Don't want youtube to rape my cpu in 3 years.

you should stop buying chinkshit trash

Titan X for $400 yay or nay? Even entry level models released past 2018 are more expensive than this
Camden Edwards
>take the cooler off what if I fucking can't though.
after initially installing the cooler on the CPU I wanted to take it off again to check the thermal paste, spent half an hour wiggling it back and forth after unscrewing the screws again, didn't come off. didn't think applying too much force would be a good idea.

>Going to be paired with i7-4770 from million years ago so 6500xt is out of the question(pcie limitation). In this case it's your cpu that is the bottleneck, you prolly won't get that many additional fps or improved 1% lows as you expect with a 6600 over a 6500
Leo Hill
get the 6600, its as fast as the 3060 and is $200 cheaper. either way your 4770K will bottle neck them >6500xt is out of the question(pcie limitation) even with the drop in architecture to pcie 2.0 your cpu would likely be the bottleneck, not the card... gimme a second pc-builds.com/calculator/Core_i7-4770K/GeForce_GTX_1060/0uX0Velu/8/100 yeah its basically bottlenecked slightly >media engine (decode/encode) is inferior to Nvidia's. Is it true? it is inferior to Nvidia's but we're talking like a fraction... it won't affect media playback. >Drivers haven't been an issue since just before RDNA, so what.. four years of good drivers, even the older stuff which had a reputation for shitty drivers is running better than ever since they fixed them.
Nicholas Lewis
yep, could also upgrade your platform for the difference between a 6500XT and 6600, same again can be said for the difference in price between a 3060 and 6600
Elijah Jenkins
Can anyone here maybe with a 3090 tell me what psu they are using?
Joseph Adams
AX1600i it just about runs it

>>Budget 1080p: RX 6500XT >Why is RTX 3050 not here? >Assuming you have an uncle who works at Nvidia who can get you that for $249 MSRP You answered your own question?
Lucas Davis
I think I'll stop the pipedream of getting a 3090 and just go with a 3080ti. Is it possible to use it for 4k60 on newer, maybe not the newest, games and 4k120hz on older stuff? Do I still need a 1000w for that one? With a 3090 it said 750w usage but with a 3080ti it's still over 700w. Is 850w enough? Also obviously not buying that card at that price jesus. pcpartpicker.com/list/JPcp9r
