I have 16GB since 2011 and I'm glad I bought that much
Yes I still use the same computer, next machine will have 32 or 64

You're right, 16gb is not enough

I have 32 gb. 50 bucks really isnt anything unless you are a NEET. You aren't a NEET right user?

meme in which way? Too less or too much?

16 GB is pretty much standard for PC now

>GiB
Its Gb you fucking tardd

works for me

Correct, 16gb is standard these days it's good for making sure that background tasks don't affect performance, also nice if you decide to use professional apps like Adobe Suite or Blender or wanna play FNV with hundreds of mods.
It's short for Gig in Bits

What do you need more than 16 GB for?

16 GB is a good and comfortable amount. Between 8, 16 and 32 I prefer 16GB currently.

Nothing unless you use it for work...

64+ is necessary for video editing, 3D animation, machine learning etc

I unironically have 64gb for python

wut

Using 8GB RAM + 8 GB swap on an SSD is no better, really

Bro to play minetest you only need 2 gb of ram come on bro.

>16GB

Realy there Is so bloat?!

I'm going to assume you've gone YandereDev mode and used 100 line if statements for everything

>Recently looked up my ram usage during all relevant dev applications open
>Mfw 90% used for 12GB RAM
God fucking dammit is it really not enough nowadays?

>12GB RAM
laptop?

Before anyone asks what that means
>Clion instance with two running operations inside
>Webstorm instance for the web/electron app
>Postman
>Spotify for music
>Browser for looking up stuff/testing application

Nope, just old PC I haven't upgraded in a while. I actually used to have 8gb but swapped 2 of the 2gb sticks for 4gb

it just brute forces shit with nested loops

huh 3x4gb (i assume) that's kinda rare but if it works it works

I've heard that dual/quad channel is kinda a meme anyway

this shits blowing up on twitter rn

16gb is fine for 99% of people and most gamers
i literally never go above 10gigs even with 2 browsers open and a bunch of microsoft office apps, which is normalfag use
obviously if you are doing any graphic design you are going to need more than that
now, games rarely ever need more than 16gb but they are getting there so if i would be buying a new pc i'd get 32gigs
i don't regret getting 32gb but you are most likely fine for the next couple of years with 16gb

Reminder that there are still many laptops being sold with 4gb ram. Depressing

Clearly you've never used a computer to do any real work
