It's ridiculous how many years it took for such a simple yet amazing thing to be made. Innovation is a crazy thing

And of course, it was made by an Indian
After years of colonialism, it is finally time for India to reclaim its past glory

best addon ever invented since ublock origin and noscript appeared. fuck jewtubers and fuck advertisers.

right arrow key is a thing you know

im a paranoid schizophrenic
wouldnt this add-on need to send telemetry of what video you are watching to pajeets server for it to skip the segment

based

Does it work with Invidious?

why in actual fuck would anyone need to do anything when this addon does it auto-magically? it not only skips adverts but also intros, outros, other unpaid content, getting to the fucking point of a video instead of waiting for some insufferable clickbaiting retard to get to the fucking point etc. no wonder retards like linus ltt are absolutely kvetching over ad blockers when this addon completely kills his (and other pathetic youtubers) highly rehearsed product shilling. these youtubers all need to fucking die, linus especially after his retarded stunt on twitter. he will live to regret his simping.

It's crazy how much open software and anti capitalists have been progressing these days.

It wasn't needed years ago because youtube wasn't filled with beggers

piped.kavin.rocks does it for you

>SponsorBlock is a crowdsourced browser extension that lets anyone submit the start and end times of sponsored segments and other segments of YouTube videos. Once one person submits this information, everyone else with this extension will skip right over the sponsored segment.

depends on what it sends, if it's just the video ID then no big deal

>but fir-- lets get started!
i to was all "eh, skipping in mpv is fast enough", then i saw someone made an mpv script for it, and i thought why not see if it's any good
well it's good, hell most of what i watch doesn't have sponsor segments in them, but nobody told me this could also auto-skip intros and outros and those like-and-subscribe bits, it's nice

>It wasn't needed years ago because youtube wasn't filled with beggers
exactly right. youtube has evolved into a place for pan handling failures of society that happen to share videos, and these failures are absolutely seething that google are slowly turning off the tap for ad revenue due to the garbage content they produce. they've got a rude awakening to the fact that youtube isn't a job or a wage and that they're literally doing it for free.

it doesn't
it sends a prefix of the video ID hash
the server returns the segments for multiple videos that could potentially fit that hash and your computer picks the video by itself
it's an incredibly well programmed extension in terms of privacy

ive found my solution
theres a script for mpv which works with a local database that you can download from pajeet

Yes it does, but its turned off by default in sponsorblock settings. there's a checkbox for invidious support, with a button below that which lets you add the instance you use.

ah okay
thats not too bad
im gonna be doing this though thanks for the explanation nonetheless fren

it actually doesn't even send the video id normally, it does this is a pretty neat way, what it does is it hashes the video id, then sends only the first few characters of the hash, and you're returned a list of videos which match that, so they don't know exactly what you're watching, only that you're watching one of a random handful of videos
github.com/ajayyy/SponsorBlock/wiki/K-Anonymity

alternatively, if you're ultra-paranoid, the database is freely available, and things like the mpv script can just use a locally-stored database, so you don't need to send anything at all

>such a simple yet amazing thing to be made
If only someone made a crowdsourced addon to filter out trannies, loli, trannies, blacked porn, etc.

Pretty good system

We will raise again bois...!!!!

Yeah, let me just use an add-on for every inconvenience I face on the web and have hundreds of add-ons bloated on my browser instead of manually doing it, what a good idea.

I still prefer using the arrow keys, thanks.

i'd donate to that

Does this actually work?

>fuck jewtubers
why you watching them and giving them views then? you know how easy it is to not watch vids or unsub from jewtuber who puts this in the video? it's very easy jew filter switch that shows who to watch and who to avoid

nooooooooooooooo not my hecking 64 megabytes of RAM

yes, it unironically is a good idea, saying it like that is not an argument against it
why would i not spend a minute installing an addon that saves several seconds on each video i watch at a minimum, just accounting for manually skipping intros/outros/sponsors/interactions?

this is the kind of thing addons are for

>hundreds of add-ons
more like 5 add-ons, hundreds of userscripts

Anyways, each person has their preferences. I'll just stick without it at least for now.
