My first reaction to VR/Metaverse is 'I'm just not gonna use it.'

My first reaction to VR/Metaverse is 'I'm just not gonna use it.'

But the reality is, like every other technology before it, those who refuse to participate will simply be left behind or die out.

At first, there will be advantages to maintaining your grip on reality while people with no self control spend 16hrs/day in a VR game.

But eventually the 2 worlds will intersect so drastically that Kaczynski's will not be able to compete on any level - physical, mental, economic - with people who use VR. When Neo gets a program put in to his brain and says 'I know Kung-Fu' - we are not far away from that.

Transhumanism, gene editing, the blurring of lines between the virtual world and the real world (think holograms) is unironically the future. People who want to maintain their humanity, their connection with God, will go extinct.

Do we fight, or do we succumb?

I'm going to tell you facebook shills what I told the delusional gamers 5 years ago. No one cares about VR. Because it does not integrate into their lives. They cannot use VR on the toilet. Or on the bus stop. Or when pretending to spend time with family. VR offers immersion to those who plan their day around it. It is anti-casual and because of that it will remain forever niche.

Does anyone even know what the "metaverse" truly is? I hear about companies trying to invest in the metaverse, buy metaverse land, etc, but it seems totally meaningless to me. Just another buzzword scam in a long line of buzzword scams. Though, maybe with Facebook and Microsoft's devotion to it, maybe they'll force people and businesses into using it.

You remember Second Life and the huge wet furry porn fart that that turned out to be? Basically that but with Oculus Rift (tm) headsets.

>I'm going to tell you personal computer shills what I told the delusional Altair BASIC users 5 years ago. No one cares about personal computers. Because it does not integrate into their lives. You are a gullible retard drunk on koolaid.

Vr, like 3D, is a dead meme. It's absolutely the most pointless thing to exist. I don't want or need a display strapped to my face. I already have a 72" projector which is also a meme but I don't go shilling it. I use what I enjoy. At least others can enjoy the shitty movie or TV show I'm watching. Metaverse is just a thing to force vr because vr isn't happening. They're trying to catch the normies. What they fail to understand is, and let me spell this the fuck out for anyone reading this.
NORMIES DON'T WANT SPERG LEVEL TECHNOLOGY!!!!!

>'I know Kung-Fu' - we are not far away from that
A person thinks that this is the case when they can search up the answer on the fly at almost any time, using the internet as an external memory device.

Even when formulating novel answers and concepts that don't exist, you can just consult the oracle and assemble information to support the formulation and discuss them in real time.

But if the internet goes down, you're not going to know (all of) Kung Fu if you learned it primarily off the internet and only internalized a small fraction of it.

But really, you don't know kung fu at all.

it's like nfts right now, it's nothing but total bullshit.
Corps and grifters are trying to invent a problem for them to solve and capitalize on.

>N-no goy dont resist join our meme virtual world were we can monitor and direcly control your every interaction
>i-it will totally be a super duper hyper big success that can't fail for sure y-you'll miss out!
The (((metaverse))) will flop hard regardless of how many shekels that faggot (((suckerberg))) throws at corporations and spends on advertising
Virtual reality is still way too far behind for such a thing to become mainstream
Unless the kike plans to sell the hardware for like $20 no one will buy it
and (((they))) are far too greedy to do that
And even if (((suckerberg))) gave them away for free and everyone made an account i will NEVER join that faggotry
>y-you'll change your mind!
No social media accounts nor email or even a permanent phone number
I wont

I never used kikebook. Ever. Never had twiter account, never was on redit and so on. What I lost? Absolutely NOTHING. What I gained? Ease of mind and less privacy incursions. You can shove this crap where sun never shines, well unless you go full hello.jpg.

When marketing starts to imply that everyone is using VR and when there isn't any real need to research anything then normies will adopt it. Even the monetary barrier to entry will fall away because normies want what everyone else has and they want status symbols which they will spend arbitrary amounts of money on even if they are demonstrably worse.

You will see what happens when marketing collides with reality and reality always win at the end.

And reality is(when it's all said and done) you have to eat, shit, talk with real people, fuck, piss, have an roof over your head, be warm, go to doctor and have an family at one point(like, real one).

Another thing is, all those tests neo-engineers/marketers(I don't even know what to call them at this point, peddlers of digital dopamine) did while on acid were on animals and difference between reality and those tests are that those animals were in captivity and unable to figure out that they are in vicious dopamine circle.

Yet, humans have this little thing called consciousness and they 10 out of 10 times figure out that they are subject of some test and then they are PISSED and ANGRY motherfuckers.
Human is only animal capable of following for years aggressor of any sort and get revenge.
And, another thing is, we lived without all that tech, I know it looks like it's impossible from your perspective, but, for some people, they'll just drop that shit and form communities in reality.
Reality always win, it's just that simple. Cant beat reality, can't change it.
And reality is, there will probably be 1 or 2 million fat, pissed poor people with every conceivable disease and short life and they will be the "market"(basically, retards) and people will see that and people will react...
Problem is, "big tech" thinks that they are needed for world to function, yet world existed before them and it will exist after them.
Only way to win is to not play.

>My first reaction to VR/Metaverse is 'I'm just not gonna use it.'
yeah me neither
>But the reality is, like every other technology before it, those who refuse to participate will simply be left behind or die out.
what the fuck are you smoking

>Because it does not integrate into their lives
Neither do video games, movies or books. In fact in the 80s/90s you could argue the exact same thing about PCs.
>But you can play video games on the toilet
Sure shitty mobile games but that's not what I was talking about.
>Or when pretending to spend time with family
Most people don't even pretend anymore.
>It is anti-casual and because of that it will remain forever niche.
It's only anti-casual in its current stage of development.

>It's absolutely the most pointless thing to exist.
You could make this point about almost every piece of technology, especially before it was adopted. This is not an argument against it becoming more popular in the future.
>I don't want or need a display strapped to my face. I already have a 72" projector which is also a meme but I don't go shilling it.
If you had used VR you would understand why this is a bad analogy.
> Metaverse is just a thing to force vr because vr isn't happening.
I agree.
>NORMIES DON'T WANT SPERG LEVEL TECHNOLOGY!!!!!
Computers were once sperg level technology. Now literally everyone has one on them at all times.

Kek the OP almost made a decent point then went on about how "you can just add a chip to learn Kung fu bro". Vastly overestimating the capability and intelligence of the silicon valley overlords. An impossible, extremely complex problem can't just be solved by throwing money at it. Literal brainlet consoomer tier take.

Don't worry. The ones who do join memeverse will have their neurons fried, turning into autists. Just compare zoomers to boomers on how well they're socially adjusted. You'll be a literal gigachad because you won't submit.

I agree with you at all points, all I want to do is to add that
phones were kinda necessity for communication and it did that part well, but now we have these trackers with eyes and ears on them and have no control over them, they almost control us.

Problem is, do we really have to hit every iceberg even if we all see it clearly in front of us?

>People who want to maintain their humanity, their connection with God, will go extinct
You mean moralfaggots boomers? Thankfully I would add.
I am all for transhumanism, I just want control on it, hacking this shit will be a delight. Cope.
