Someone outbid me on the only x200 on ebay that isn't horrendously overpriced. Now what?

Previous thread (I think)

I have $450. What chinkpad do I get?

It's okay user, there will be another chance!

Pretty much any stock X series. Depends on what you want performance? battery life?

I just wanted to be free.

Preferably dedicated graphics, just some MX series nVidia or something. Anything 14 inches or less.

Is Libreboot better than Coreboot?
Sounds like your looking for a T4#0(p/s) or P50/1. Not sure if something like T480(s) in your budget range though.

>TFW I got 2 T500 for 50€ each
Just don't go for a X200? What's wrong with a T400 or T500?

>Is Libreboot better than Coreboot?
Depends on what your goal is

A combination of "technically, yes," and the fact that I know a guy with x200s mobos that I could swap in and get a shitton of battery life. I could do the same thing with an x230, but it'd be significantly more expensive.

what the serious fuck is this thread? where's the real /tpg/?

Idk bro, I just noticed the real /tpg/ wasn't here, so I decided to make a Dell Edition. Pretty neat huh?

Do you plan on using the ultrabased?

Post the ThinkPad price Matrix

You talking about this rando excel spreadsheet the xsauc guy posted? I'm more of a Dell Latitude D610-type of guy, so I don't really know what it's for, but hope you find it useful.
What are the different goals of the Libre and Corse?

Attached: 1643458245656.jpg (3149x1275, 1.78M)

If I can get a hold of one.

Does anyone know much about X200 clone that had the Atom CPU?

Attached: X200CA_persp_face.png (360x320, 131.28K)

>Pretty neat huh?
not really. you just come off looking like a edgy attention seeking faggot. but that what you wanted right?

Looking for an older thinkpad to around with, what is the last pre spyware one? Also system76 or framework laptop?

The List is always FPBP, no exceptions, even if we're in a Dell edition. IF you want to go full autismo, create one for Dell laptops.

Librebooting is the way to go if you want to get rid of backdoors, but prepare for some weaponsgrade autism and a lot of things being wacky.

#*00 (X200, T400, W500, etc). But you gotta Libreboot it.

>T460(s)/T470(s) - ultraportables, good battery life
Remove these fucking abominations from the OP already.
>good battery life
Nigger they have like 46wh in the form of 2 23wh batteries, you cannot fucking put a 48wh or 72wh second battery. The chassis is also weak and some won't even take most RAM for some reason.

T460s/T470s are models to avoid.

>X200CA
Oh god this thing sucks. I think the X201/X202/S200/F201 are better.

Will do, if I ever have the chance again.
Yeah maybe. I just wanted a /tpg/ thread, tho thought I should make it obvious that it was made by an imposter.

Are i7 x230s worth it? Also whats the difference between i5-3320M and i5-3360M? Should i wait for 3360M or is 3320M good enuf?

>it is a parallel universe episode

can anyone recommend a good mSATA drive for a x230? i'm seeing brand names i never heard of before and not sure to trust them.

Yeah I just googled x200 and first image with this Asus garbage. Apparently the Thinkpad x200 clone is pretty rare now though.
> 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450
> GMA 3150 Graphics
> 16GB HDD
> 4400mAh
> 1GB RAM
> 11 inch, 1366x768 Display.
No Lenovo logo
Apparently costed about $300 USD? The only thing with the same CPU was the x100e Australian version. Maybe more appropriate for /csg/ though?

I got 3000 USD for a thinkpad.
Which one?

It's kind of insane when you realize how many x2##s are still be produced in China. Searching for x200 or x230 on Alibaba wholesaling for < $80. There were some x260s for $35 which is kinda nuts.

Attached: csg.png (800x800, 516.66K)

is there a way to install libreboot on an e6330 latitude?

or coreboot

can you link a new x230? didn't think they were still being produced

Why don't more people talk about the W520? It seems like a great option albeit a bit more expensive than comparable T series. Is there a dirty secret or some reason not to get one in current year?

Should've said produced/refurbed. I think x230s and x200s are all refurbed.

ingram micro or a ingram reseller

>ingram micro
cant find much online. Would it be retarded to go with one of those batterys on ebay? Or are they all chink poo shite

A friend of mine had one in the past and he liked it.

Help frens. I’ve recently started a grad course in CS and unexpectedly have to travel to another cunt for life reasons and so need a laptop. I’m looking for something cheap, portable, small, and with great battery life. It’s going to be used mainly for programming, email, browsing pdfs and watching videos. No gaming or anything heavy at all so trying to keep my budget to a minimum (couple hundred dollaroos). Any recs?

Was thinking of going for one of the cheaper thinkpads like the t420 but I saw in a user review that the battery life isn’t too great on top of it being 900p. I don’t mind getting second hand either, I just really prefer good battery life above all and not too bulky.

don't get one off ebay unless it's a real good seller. get one off ali from Kingsener if they ship to your country.

au.ingrammicro.com/site/productdetail?id=A001-000000000002510743

just contact them to arrange a special non-reseller order, worst case you'll have to ask for one of their resellers who bought a bunch (they will just look through their sales and see who has stock)

Let me go into more detail. T440 and T440s are very similar, they both have 4GB soldered RAM and 1 slot and they both have one internal battery and one external, but the T440s has a better chassis, it's slightly smaller in every direction and has a magnesium bottom cover. The T450 got rid of the shitty clickpad and added a second SODIMM slot instead of the soldered RAM, while the T450s kept the soldered RAM, but got a glass surface on the touchpad (who gives a fuck if the trackpoint is usable) chassis differences still apply afaik. The T460s and T470s are a whole other laptop however, they kept the dual batteries, but made them both internal, got rid of the 2.5" slot for a full size M.2 and added a 1440p display option. So now you got 2 tiny batteries which, together give you a very average capacity. Certainly 48Wh is not bad for any ULV laptop but it's pretty fucking average, I think it's exactly what the E14's single internal battery has and every single battery T series after has had a battery bigger than 50Wh. Besides this, most recently I heard these are quite picky with RAM sticks, which is weird as fuck. Overall though it's just a weird dual internal battery laptop, the only other one that had this was the X240s which I think was a special edition for some regions, I wouldn't bother with it, I've seen pictures of them with the hinge mounts broken off as well, I think this is the first T series where they started making the entire chassis from magnesium without any plastic shell which would explain why it's weaker, this is still exclusive to the S variants though. T450s is still plastic on the outside of the palmrest.

>both have 4GB soldered RAM
Trash.

he didn't raise the prices, they're the same as before but now in SGD, SGD to USD is x0.74

I bought a t14 gen 2 and am satisfied with my purchase

I'm considering a Thinkpad X230t for art

Is the stylus worth it? Or is there a better option? Currently using a 2012 MacBook Pro, familiar with Windows and Linux though so the transition would be minor.

t25 gun when?

Attached: ThinkGun.jpg (960x960, 81.03K)

I'm about to buy a T440s, what should I know in advance about it?
Should I buy a 6-cell battery with it or can the laptop work for 4 hours?

Attached: 1641539464047.jpg (408x380, 34.29K)

refurbed=cleaned&repasted
it has nothing to do with producing

wbout t480?
nah i think its pre weak for art, tho doable, i think there are decent touchscreen machines from other companies like hp envy or ms surface
