Originally I was a little Normie faggot who archived movies and TV but now I realise it's all shit.

I stopped pirating and archiving shit a few years ago. At some point I stopped watching/playing

and started reading books. I still pirate books but I prefer text on real paper. So these days I'll just preview something as pdf. If I like the first couple of chapters I'll go ahead and buy a hardback used somewhere if they're available.

I started filling my free time doing other shit IRL. I've even cut out the cell phone and stopped watching shit on youtube. The only time I use the web is to shitpost or look up a guide to learn how to do something. I really have no reason to pirate anything anymore.

I would donate bandwidth to people that do pirate and host content for them. I did that for years. But everyone locked away all the torrents behind private tracker social clubs and the other gatekeeping that happens these days. I don't want to jump through hoops just to host content I don't even care about. So I just stopped doing it. Sometimes I'll still dump something if I see it isn't available but I'm running out of my own sources of shit like that.

I've also figured out that when I do pirate media I only watch/play it one or two times. So I don't obsessively archive shit like anime anymore. I used to archive Any Forums shit like current events but I stopped watching MSM so I don't care about that anymore either.

Last one is important for me. I like listening to music while I do other shit and I hate everything they play on the radio locally. I don't have a cell phone. So instead I have an audio server on my LAN with 3TB worth of music stored on it. I haven't even listened to most of it yet. I haven't even gotten through the 2hu stuff on its own and probably never will.

Games and cartoons are for degenerates and manchildren. They have about the same "value" as porn.

I do too most pdf files are dog shit. I hate black text on white background and pdfs use it by default. If the scans aren't horrible I can force dark mode. But a lot of the books I like don't work that well with it.

Just download large archives of books other people have put together and go through them at your leisure. I've found a lot of interesting stuff like that.

Why are you spending that much on two books? Go to used book stores, thrift stores, and flea markets. You can get hardbacks for less than $1 like that. It's harder now with dedicated ebay people shifting through them but you can still find good stuff this way. For new books try to buy them directly from the publisher. They cut you a deal and you're denying amazon money.

I try really hard to avoid buying from Amazon. They usually jack up the prices on hardbacks. I don't like paperbacks and refuse to buy them unless hardbacks weren't printed or are so rare they cost $100+.

I've gotten tons of books for free. Normalfags give them away all of the time. They don't read them anymore. I've seen them throw away valuable books just to get rid of their dead relative's stuff. I've even seem people burn piles of hardbacks just because they didn't want to store them. Normalfags don't know books are worth money.

I got four nice leather bound encyclopedia sets all from different eras. It's fun to look through them and see how much stuff has been removed over the years.

You're being too extreme. Porn is worst than vidya and cartoons. The cartoons are for times when you have to entertain children or want to watch something you haven't seen since you were a child yourself. Vidya is for when you have company and they want to do something as a group. There is nothing wrong with watching and playing this stuff every now and again. You just can't let it become your life.

Something else I archive is how-to videos and educational content. Most of it I get through youtube these days. I try to take advantage of the free lectures and experts that have put together presentations. I just find this stuff organically as I need it and grab it with ytdl. Just avoid the annoying e-celeb shit.

If I find myself in a real happening thread I try to archive everything I can. Images, web pages, webms, social media accounts, and sometimes posts. I don't do this as much anymore because I kinda tuned out of MSM. If you don't keep up with Any Forumsshit and MSM you stop worrying about that crap. I just dropped out of the system all together.

You should also think about grabbing any manuals for hardware/software you own/use. I keep printed manuals for most everything I own. Just in case I need to reference something without internet access or in the field. When I got rid of the cell phone this stuff started becoming very useful to me. It's faster than looking on the web most of the time.
