The January 1997 issue featured an article written by Vince Russo under his pseudonym Vic Venom. In it, he wrote "predictions" (more like spoilers, even though he was not yet head of creative) for what would happen to certain wrestlers in the year including Undertaker's "dark secret" that would be revealed by the end of the year, Stone Cold feuding/teaming with Shawn Michaels, etc. However, in Pillman's section, Russo simply wrote "Before Cupid's arrow pierces the heart, THE TIME BOMB WILL EXPLODE". More abstract than any of the other prophecies, it is quite eerie seeing how later that year before his relationship angle with Marlena would really take off, he died of a heart attack the day of Badd Blood

That issue is also what got Russo promoted to head writer. The story goes that McMahon called a creative meeting, slapped this issue on his desk and pointed at it saying "THIS is what we need to be doing". Russo was then promoted in early 1997
