what is the scariest movie you have ever seen? i want to watch something scary. i don't care if it's from a big studio or indy, it just has to be scary and i can find it free online. picrel is what i watched recently and it was alright, not that scary though.

The scariest movie I've ever seen is the one playing in my head constantly.

I saw Buried the other day and I thought it was pretty good
not exactly scary but thriller/drama, free to watch online

The 40 year old virgin

Generic horrors arent scary imo
Movies that really scare me are psychological dramas like Stroszek, Stalker, A visitor to a museum, Tenant etc.
But other than that I really enjoy found footage so I recommend the new ones, Incantation and VHS94

Dark Skies from 2013 just creeps me the fuck out.
>Stalker
the '79 film? What did you find scary? The hairy deformed girl?

Nope. It was in theaters recently so I don't know if you can find it yet. The first half is really good and the second half is a bit meh. Kinda falls flat but there were a couple of scenes that had my asshole in my throat.

This movie scared the hell out of me

Nope has exactly once scary scene in the entire movie and it's like 20 seconds long. The movie is a mess, Jordan Peele has no idea how to direct

The original Blair Witch Project, but you have to be a dumb kid that actually thinks it's found footage. Otherwise, not that scary.

Thinking about this made me realize I mostly like violent horror movies that aren't very scary at all. John Carpenter's The THING has some great tension and some really disgusting practical effects. I love that movie.

Hmmmm. There is scary in terms of creepy and atmospheric and there is scary in terms of shocking.

The most visually shocking film is hands down A SERBIAN FILM. An legendary porn actor gets hired to do one last gig. It is not what he expects. It is a wild ride.

For psychologically creepy I would say Ghostwatch 1992. It did give me nightmares as a kid.

Back in 1999 Blair Witch was revolutionary because it was legit the first mainstream found footage film. The idea seemed so unique and creative and nobody ever heard of such an idea before. That is why some people thought it was real.

Now found footage horror films are so common that when you go back and watch Blair Witch it just seems kinda cliched.

The Exorcist is still the best horror film for me and also Shutter (thailanese not the us remake)

>Incantation
This movie was scary af when I saw it alone
It became a comedy when I watched it with other people

no gore/torture porn. want actual horror, not just edgy fucked up fake found footage stuff.

Go fucking Google something yourself then

ive seen a serbian film on like the "most disturbing" movies lists. i never watched it though, martyrs was good.

I feel like I'm the only one thinks jordan peele's movies are shit
Like I fucking get what he's trying to say in his movies, but are they scary? I go into theaters expecting to get scared shitless but I get preached upon by endless barrage of political satire or some shit. Let's say you remove those parts of his movies and left the "scary" parts in, they are still shit.

Make sure to watch serbian film with your whole family

I've seen A Dark Song many times, absolutely love that movie. Great setting and dialogues. Best movie of that year, along with Wind River.

It was really good, the only thing that bugged me was the dialogue seemed forced sometimes. Also the part where the dude starts beating his meat killed the vibe a little.
