usually a mother murdering her children is a result from psychosis. there was this story where this woman was in psychosis and her husband rapped and impregnated her and made her carry the baby until she gave birth, real manly thing to do. she went into psychosis again from all the abuse (from a male) and beheaded the child saying the devil made her do it. husband got off with charges of course and she went to jail.

the women who do this are almost always suffering from Post partum depression or post partum psychosis. This, by various names, has been recorded since ancient times and can easily occur in otherwise happy, sane, trad women.
That being said, there's a reason you never see a happy mother of a child age 1-5. There's a reason they are all so miserable. And obviously that wears on the psyche, of course they'd snap and go insane, especially when their husbands are more likely to make it worse than help.

NTA but that's only slightly true when familial. Mothers are slightly more likely to kill than fathers if and only if the child is an infant. However, for killings where the murderer is not a parent, men are still more likely.
