Not really. It hasnt really increased to keep up with inflation over the last decade so the disparity between the middle class and the dirt poor has grown so much that the average wage isnt really accurate because the poor bring it down so much. Like I said, tradies make money and you see them driving big imported dodge ram and silverado trucks now. With our import taxes on foreign cars, they are easily $100K+ vehicles here, but they seem to somehow own them easily and a $500k+ house. Whats sad is that I missed out on the neet goldrush.

I went off government payments sometime several years ago to make the situation serious and so I wouldnt just rest on my laurels and to motivate me to do it, supported by my mother who earns a decent living. I never buy anything in the supermarket unless its on sale or nearing used by and marked down heavily. Anyway, pandemic hits. Big boy neetbux arrive in lieu of bat soup flu. Legit $750 a week relief payments for filling out monthly online jobseeker "interviews" to tell them your situation still hasnt changed. I cant even be bothered, thinking this will only last a few weeks, a month tops and I cant really be bothered and can subsist living like a street rat on scraps. It doesnt end. It keeps going. It lasts almost a year.

I could have made $35k or some shit off the government last year for doing literally nothing and I passed it up because Im a retard and on top of it all, I still have no motivation to work.
