Did you use any lubricant? Take pictures where the base is actually attached to the cylinder. Wait just to be clear. You didnt rest this on the floor and proceed to hammer it right?

Do that put it on something that'll hold the base but let the cylinder fall through like the second video if it comes apart this way then there should be no reason why it wont unless they really friction fid that in which case it's never coming off.
