The reason it seems otherwise is because they process language externally- meaning communication is a purely a process of encoding and deciphering words, they don't communicate using emotional expression the way normies especially women do, because they have a focused attention span that only can handle the task of verbal communication. This is why autists can usually pass those stupid "what does this facial expression mean" tests, but cannot use facial expressions and other nonverbal cues while interacting with people in real time.
When I worked at a grocery store I got so many complaints form customers and employees about my "conduct" but many commendations form shoppers for my diligence and thoroughness.
