Are you supposed to like the taste of alcohol or people just do it to fit in ? I don't have much experience with it but of the few I tested there's not a single alcohol that have the addictive power of sugary beverages. Like there's not a single situation in my life I'd think "I want to drink alcohol"

It's an acquired taste, and hard to get if you didn't start drinking as a teenager. That said, try hard cider, it's much more sweet than beer and one of the few drinks I can tolerate.

99.9% of people just drink it to get drunk. Some of them may pretend to be sophisticated and like the taste, to come off as intelligent or cultured, but they are lying.
The remaining 0.1% of people that genuinely like the taste have usually been drinking for long enough for them to acquire the taste.

Alcohol is a social lubricant and gives normies an excuse to act crazy and not face a lot of repercussions.

I like the taste of Whiskey.
It takes time to get used to it but once you are you can taste all the flavors and enjoy them without alcohol burn.

Alcohols vary in taste. I hate being offered a beer but I honestly enjoy red wine and would drink it with dinner more often if it weren't for the alcohol.

Not sure how you missed the memo. Everyone hates the taste of alcohol at first, your body is programmed to reject it because it is literally poison. But you can learn to enjoy the taste over time. The most degenerate alcoholics love the taste because they've built a strong association between the taste and the impending high that they desperately crave.

The only thing close to a tip I can give to "enjoying" alcohol is leave no room for vapours in your mouth. Teeth together, cheeks in, tongue on the roof, and suck it in through your lips. That's the only way I personally have been able to taste the "flavours" of alcohol.

Beer still tastes like fancy grass water, but I don't taste the alcohol anymore.

No you aren't supposed to like it. Some people can brainwash themselves into thinking they like it over time, or wait until you're old and your taste buds are mogged so it doesn't taste bad. I like hard liquor because I can pour it into drinks which taste better and just drink the mix or down a bunch of it quickly to get drunk with minimal pain.
