There's nothing wrong with just doing your own thing. You don't need another person in your life to lead a fulfilling life as long as you have some way to deal with loneliness. Family, friends, your offspring if you have any.
Trauma, PTSD, abuse, etc are many causes as to why people choose to live alone rather than deal with a relationship. As long as you are happy, that is ultimately what matters.
