There was a pic in the thread on... I think it was Monday or Tuesday that had a tomboy with her leg in a cast.

Which - hear me out here - is an absolutely golden opportunity. Over the six weeks that she has to be off her feet and not active, she'll put on just a bit of pudge, and then when she is able to play sports or roughhouse or what have you again, she'll get out of breath a bit sooner than normal, and you can tease her about it. "What, not quite up to it anymore?" And if you do it right she'll be a bit embarrassed and she'll get mad at you but it'll be that special brand of anger that has a big shot of "girlishly pouty" in it, and she'll be even more embarrassed that she gave you a glimpse of her hidden adorable girly side. (and then she'll hit you for doing that to her)
