Depends. My experience is with middle class coastal US whites. Usually if people do say blatantly racist things, it's just a joke and not meant to be taken seriously. Older people might slip up and say something unintentionally racist (like how inner cities are dangerous or imitating a japanese voice actor or something), but people will usually be quick to correct them on things like that. Nobody would be caught dead talking like they do on Any Forums.

As a Scottish user im surprised to hear that. Open racism especially among friends isn't terribly uncommon here and we LARP as being more progressive than most places in the US
