It's a vestige of the primitive/ancient mindset whose use was to reinforce the stringent social standards of the era.
If you can change the way you think, you could connect with your hallucinations/delusions in a much more productive manner. Easier said than done, especially when living in an individualistic environment where everything and anything could be perceived as a threat, buuuut idk, don't give up hope. Watch A Beautiful Mind or something. Tons of schizos have accomplished a lot in life.
The alternative, of course, is to go on a litany of pharmaceuticals which only serve to chemically castrate your mind.. basically, a chemical lobotomy. Have fun drooling to death...
