i've been applying for months and no luck
>BRO JUST APPLY LOL
is it because of the economic recession?
Any other NEETs having trouble getting a job?
Why the fuck would I want a job?
I don't even bother anymore man. Applying itself is a huge pain in the ass and you almost never get a callback. And even if I did get a job it wouldn't make me anywhere near enough money to be independent so what's the point? Maybe if it was the 60s and purchasing power still existed I'd have a job but with inflation, insane housing prices and high cost of living there's literally no point having a job in 2022
how come ur parents just let you NEET it up
KFC and McDonalds rejected me this month. I've hit rock bottom.
Because we're not poorfags
my parents have money too they just hate it when i'm NEET
I dont understand what happened, I could NEET for years in my 20s with no problem, always had stuff to do but now I'm 31 and been a NEET for two months and I'm already bored to death,
where have you been applying, OP? what's your resume look like? are you unhireable because of a developmental disability or extremely hideous disfiguration or something?
I mean there is a "greeter" at my grocery store who just lays in his wheelchair and groans at you as you enter the store. If even a paralyzed, non-verbal dude like that can get a job I don't see how it's so hard for you.
>now I'm 31 and been a NEET for two months and I'm already bored to death,
ur supposed to lift weights
>where have you been applying, OP?
everywhere
>what's your resume look like?
people say it's not amazing but it's honest and explains my work experience and skills
i'm hiring a guy on fiverr to rewrite it. has hundreds of 5 star reviews. he's out until tomorrow
>are you unhireable because of a developmental disability or extremely hideous disfiguration or something?
no i went to the top ranked university in my state and have 8 YoE
>I mean there is a "greeter" at my grocery store who just lays in his wheelchair and groans at you as you enter the store. If even a paralyzed, non-verbal dude like that can get a job I don't see how it's so hard for you.
a lot of min wage jobs have this "are you disabled" question, and people like that get preferential treatment in hiring. i think their employers get paid to hire them
>hideous disfiguration
they don't see my face i don't get to the point of interview
Probably because your CV is dogshit or you have no marketable skills
have you been getting any interviews at least?
could you be tanking the interviews somehow?
Same-ish. Was fine wasting my life on the computer, but now I'm 28 and so bored of it that I'd much rather be employed than NEETing.
>have you been getting any interviews at least?
nothing past recruiters
>could you be tanking the interviews somehow?
if you count recruiters, it's usually because i can't understand a word they're saying because of their Indian accent
>Probably because your CV is dogshit
OK i just ordered a $200 resume writer on fiverr
nobody ever said it was that bad, just not amazing
>or you have no marketable skills
i mean anyone can say my skills aren't marketable at all, but at the same time i know loads of people without marketable skills that have jobs
>if you count recruiters, it's usually because i can't understand a word they're saying because of their Indian accent
WTF? I've spoken with a ton of recruiters (I'm in USA) and none of them have been Indian or not fluent in English... seriously what jobs are you applying for bro? Some offshore scam for an Indian company?
Have you tried your local shops, etc? Anywhere nearby with a Now Hiring sign? Even just a quick Google "jobs near me". Entry level if you don't have experience.
>WTF? I've spoken with a ton of recruiters (I'm in USA) and none of them have been Indian or not fluent in English... seriously what jobs are you applying for bro? Some offshore scam for an Indian company?
coding jobs. i have 8 years of work experience, all of it is coding
they keep calling my phone and emailing me, clearly indian names .i get a phone call from an indian EVERY DAY. i usually can't understand them
i also get LOADS of car insurance calls, and other stupid scams. i think a lot of job applications online are fake listings they just want your phone # and sell it to telemarketers. the only people that pick up random phone #s are people looking for jobs
>Have you tried your local shops, etc?
yes. i went to the career center even
>Anywhere nearby with a Now Hiring sign?
yeah they aren't really doing that
>Even just a quick Google "jobs near me". Entry level if you don't have experience.
i've applied to hundreds of jobs near me as well as remote jobs
nothing!
maybe this $200 resume will help, not sure
>Apply for IT job at at smaller MSP near me 4-5 employees.
>Owner contacts me and says he wants to setup interview right away, seems eager to hire someone
>Go to interview at 8:30 before they even open up.
>Do a technical test
>Fill out information/sign for a background check.
>Tell him I what my minimum salary would be (at least 51k/52k) or about 25/hr
>He texts me back and says background check was all good.
>Says he can pay me 22/hr for the first 90 days working then "evaluate" me and possibly pay 24 after that.
>Text him back saying could he just start me at 25
>Ghosts me
>NEET with no marketable skills applying for work during a fucking recession
Its so fucking competitive rn your basically fucked bro.
Pandemic forced a crunch in the workforce, now many companies feel they can operate on a skeleton crew.
We're not in a recession and considering what the job openings look like I don't understand how you're not getting a job. What state are you in?
