Most of them sound annoying. I can't say that they lack personality since a cute face can only go so far, but some of them are obviously playing a character and that just rubs off on me wrong.
I won't go out of my way to watch one. I've never visited a stream of a vtuber but I've seen enough clips of various ones on YouTube to get a decent idea of what they are. The one I watch semi-frequently is this woman with a moth avatar. She does all the rigging and animation herself which makes her seem much more genuine than the people who hopped in on the bandwagon for the dough.
