How bad is Adderall for you really? I've done it a few times, everything feels so much clearer, I can get all my thoughts out and have zero brain fog, I have a similar affect with caffeine but to a lesser extent. Is there a legit chemical imbalance in my brain that only stimulants can "fix"? Or do I need to fix my diet and lifestyle and get some discipline?

no idea, ive procrastinated my entire life and done nothing of worth, highest drug tried is caffeine, so cant tell, i would probably benefit from amphetamines, prolly have adhd too, although can hyperfocus on things that are enjoyable(dopamine) but never finish anything, and struggle extremely hard to do anything non enjoyable

It isn't, but Adderall is pretty shitty and only Americans use it. Methylphenidate and Lisdexamfetamine are much better, and XR (extended release) are always the go-to, but some take XR + IR depending on how it acts. But you should be happy with what you're offered as long as there are no side effects.
Diet and lifestyle can only go so far. Normal people don't have to give a single shit about any of that, and can still concentrate. A dozen crutches don't make up a single leg.

Ritalin is instant release AFAIK. It lasts only 4 hours or so. Trying to get it to last longer is fruitless. It's basically a less shitty version of a cup of coffee. BTW I am talking out of my ass right now seriously what the fuck am I even saying, it doesn't make any sense medically speaking but it's true it's preferable to have it last an entire day, but it's better than nothing.

I've scored super high on ADHD tests that a psych in a clinic and my current therapist have done on me, like off the charts actually. But my therapist wants me to try strategies like weekly plans and building microhabits, meanwhile i don't use any of that stuff because i can't even get up or sleep regularly or shower regularly, i haven't cleaned dishes in weeks and sometimes i just prepare a fake plan right before a session because I'm so ashamed that i can't do a simple task like write down a plan for a day and check my letter box regularly. He's super against drugs and isn't a psychiatrist so he couldn't even prescribe drugs, and he doesn't really want to do an elaborate diagnosis on me which would probably make it possible to get a prescription for me. What the fuck do i do, I'm from Germany btw... I would even pay for that shit i just want to be able to clean up before wasting all day on the internet
