just recently i was on a trip and just had my weak laptop with no mouse on me, so i decided to just play a playstation game from my childhood that was pre-analog sticks so tolerable with a keyboard
sure i just downloaded a copy to play in an emulator instead of using the disc i didn't bring with me, but that's beside the point (not always an option and plenty of people care about the legality of playing a game you don't own)
sure if he's got boxed of games in the attic he has zero intent on playing again, then he probably should sell them, but just keeping some games is not a problem or unusual at all
my spindle of old game discs wouldn't fetch much money anyway, they're not rare games

then that's probably fair, sound like you're just against people who have collections in general, as in not personal collections they actually use, but "i need every game that came out for this platform" kind of collection
