I can't be the only one who notices that as recently as like 2015, you never used to hear about transgenders outside of Tumblr, but now in 2022 - less than a decade later - they're absolutely EVERYWHERE and seem to have massive cultural and institutional power.
What is behind this, exactly? And why is nobody willing to discuss this topic honestly? Even on Any Forums, one of the more "transphobic" websites still around, if you discuss this question you inevitably get bombarded with either Any Forumstards who just spam at you "its da joos", or unironic trans people who lie and say "omg its always been like this". Nobody wants to be honest and actually figure out WHAT has happened in the past decade and WHY this demographic of people has gone from a tiny insignificant minority to a massive cultural force.
So, what does Any Forums think? What's behind this skyrocketing in the number of trans and the emergence of transgenderism as a seemingly unstoppable movement?
$100k per troon in medical expenses over their, admittedly short, life. They're a billion dollar industry and of course you'd want it to grow if you were a pharmaceutical company.
It's simple economics. Women are simply too difficult to get these days, so men are turning to market substitutes after being priced out.

I've seen this screencap many times before, and its certainly true for right now, but it doesn't seem to explain the origins of the push for transgenderism in mainstream society.
The way I see it is that it was a bottom-up movement coming from the extreme fringes of society, which was then adopted by powerful people who pushed it from top-down onto the normalfags.
If you go back to, say, 2012, you could see Tumblr blogs which talked about the EXACT "gender ideology" concepts which have now become mainstream in 2022. Blogs talking about 100+ genders, neopronouns, why you shouldn't assume someone's gender, etc. But back then, we all looked at them as loonies who would never have any power in mainstream society.
Somehow, those activists from Tumblr grew loud enough that they were able to make their ideology known to the big-whigs who then picked it up and started running with it. I've heard it theorised that this happened because of Tumblr having a much more privileged, moneyed, university-educated demographic of people browsing it, therefore, they were in spaces where they could communicate their beliefs to the rich and powerful.

I noted the presence of "tranny groomer" types on Any Forums, particularly Any Forums, at least as far back as 2013, long before transgenderism became properly mainstream in the real world.
The strange thing about Any Forums is that this website manages to be extremely anti-trans at the same time as harbouring a LOT of genuine, unironic trans posters. It has been this way for a very long time, too. Many Anons will erroneously blame anti-trannyism on Any Forums as being the product of "2016 election tourists", but I've been here long enough to remember the threads in 2011 and 2012 which relentlessly mocked Tumblr and, by extension, the rampant gender ideology nonsense which was posted there.

I think it's going to get a whole lot crazier. If there isn't a massive cultural backlash, I wouldn't be surprised if we reach a point in 10 years where 5 to 10 percent of guys are transitioning into girls. I think that Inceldom, female privilege, and fetishization of femininity from a young age are a primary cause. I don't believe that there is any sort of immutable quality that makes a person trans. Even if they feel dysphoria, I don't believe it's a fully organic thing. I expect that there's going to be a huge rise in prison gayness too, social dynamics are just pretty fucked right now.
For the record, I have no issue with trannies as long as they can make themselves look somewhat female and aren't pushing any kind of insane agenda or wasting their time trying to justify why they are "seriously trans for real." I don't think most of them are like this, it's just the loudest most insane ones. I see all of this as a symptom of clown world rather than a cause, and if they feel that transitioning makes their own life better then it's fine by me.

I'm sort-of drunk so bear with me, anons. If you ask me, a lot of it is biological. First of all, see picrel or simply ask /tttt/ about the "2D:4D ratio". Now, I have this little theory that perhaps hormone exposure in the womb can also turn an otherwise-healthy male baby into a tranny, like their brain just develops in a female pattern due to a lack of testosterone exposure as a fetus. Here are some factors which I believe increase the risk of this defective prenatal hormone distribution: >Women having children later in life, growing a fetus inside a shitty, ageing womb that is more likely to cause birth defects (we already see this correlation with Autism and Down Syndrome), adding "fucked up hormones" to the long list of defects that roasties cause for their children. >Increase in obesity, especially among women. Keep in mind being obese causes your body, even if male, to produce more estrogen and less testosterone. >Shitty diets, drug use, excessive alcohol consumption etc. basically mothers putting toxic shit inside their bodies. >Pollutants in the water, air etc fucking with hormones.
This sounds plausible, but I think it just makes more dramatic a phenomenon that was already present: EVERYONE is under the endocrine influence of both categories of sex hormones, both pre-natal and ongoing, with the result that no one's cognition is entirely masculine or entirely feminine. It's moving a slider another 5% to the left, which constitutes crossing a threshold after which there's a dramatic increase in trannyism, rather than being some kind of binary "whoops you're a tranny now" switch flip as a single-cause result of pre-natal endocrine imbalance
