Wolfram is some really dense stuff so just a tiny cube, like 2cm^3 should be satisfying but not too heavy that it's uncomfortable to hold for a long time.

I think cubes might be uncomfortable to hold for extended periods. However a sphere seems like it would good to hold and you could easily roll it around and it would probably be fun.

>buying metal just to hold it

You could have other people try holding it, and explain to them how dense it is.

>really dense stuff
How dense we talking?

Buy lead instead. Lead poisoning will increase your testosterone. Tungsten is more expensive and gay.

youtu.be/CHdWmdQ_7PY?t=270 Very dense. Its density is 19.28 grams per cc, gold for comparison is 19.3 and lead is 11.29 . Wolfram is also a very strong metal.

Lead is lame, it's not even radioactive. You should be buying uranium

Get a 4" sphere, probably feels amazing to hold. 6" would be awesome but I'm not sure anyone is making them that big without getting a one off custom job which is going to cost a shitton. Probably have to be pretty strong to be able to hold that too.

Also doing the calculations on it, that 4" cube weighs 20 kilograms or something like 45 pounds.

I wish I would have gotten into tungsten the first time I heard about it on Any Forums, a poster was explaining how holding it's weight made him feel satisfied and fulfilled. Not long after that I saw it showing up on youtube and the prices went up.

Tungsten is 71% MORE dense than lead. That's dense!

Ok this is crazy, they are asking $1000 for a 2.75" sphere now??

surely this (very good) thread has been moved from /sci/? doesn't strike me as a robot thread at all

yeah but you'd be showing them how socially dense you are by doing that

My penis is more dense than any metal.
Two hands required ;)

It was a thread from here, not /sci/.

i have no evidence to back up my claim but i think either a relatively thin cylinder or a small sphere, one that can fit right in the palm of your hand

The feeling of weight is that objects are being forced to the earths surface.

Where is the force coming from, how is the force pushing on the tungsten cubes body?

Something with spikes, definitely. It must stand on a table. And perhaps three degrees of internal symmetry. I dream of it every day.

It's a matter of its mass and the force of gravity. The kind of matter you and I are made out of is actually extremely undense. The massive part of each particle is absolutely tiny compared to the amount of space between it and other particles. Tungsten however is an incredibly heavy element and so its particle is quite dense and that's combined with it being quite good at narrowly ordering itself with its kin to reduce space even further. Also weight is a measure of its mass, so the force required to move it is also increased.
