What's the difference between an introvert and a schizoid?

Keep in mind that those are just bullet point traits to make it more digestible as a wikipedia articile. Diagnosing personality disorders is a difficult thing as its quite nuanced. Some people may posess some but not all. And others tick every box.

Introversion doesn't mean shyness, shy people just like to call themselves introverted because it sounds better.

Introversion is a higher order factor, shyness is a primary factor of it. Eysenck and Eysenck's found that shyness directly scaled with introversion. You legitmately have no clue what you are talking about. Going forward never comment on mattesr that you arent familiar with.

A schizoid is like an introvert on steroids. While introverts are often just normal people that are shy and like to be alone sometimes, schizoids like to be alone ALL the time. They have no desire to interact with anybody. For someone who has the disorder, they have social anhedonia which means close relationships and social interactions don't make them happy.
Don't fall for the "covert schizoid" meme that claims you can be schizoid while deeply desiring friends and dating. That's more similar to avoidant personality disorder.
They have a hard time expressing emotions or feeling things on a strong level at all. I have the disorder and all of my emotions feel extremely dulled compared to what is normal. On the outside, schizoids usually appear to have aspergers.
Schizoids are also often asexual (this doesn't mean they don't masturbate, just means they don't want to have sex IRL at all, this is referred to as "aegosexual" sometimes)

Diagnosed by a psychologist. Only really went so I could go to a psychiatrist and be prescribed medication for other problems. Having the schizoid diagnosis makes it easier to get benzos and other pills because they think you're severely mentally ill
