Art is everything I had

Art is everything I had.
Art is something that made me special.
Art is something I've dedicated 26 years of my life.

Countless hours of work are worth nothing thanks to AI.
I don't think I have any more hope left for the future my frens.

It is somewhat scary what AI art is currently doing, but there are some things that can't be done with this technology at the moment (namely: porn)

For what it's worth, I think as the years go by, as impressive as this kind of thing is, art generated by computers will generally be seen as "soulless" and missing something compared to what a human produces, even if it can be indistinguishable at times.

Art comes from human emotion, from lived experiences, from a very specific vision the artist has. A machine can only replicate those things based on information we feed it, but it can never generate those things that make real art what it is. It can only imitate, never truly create.

I've heard that in museum galleries, they're going to be implementing a device that monitors how long people stare at a work of art and use it to curate what art will be displayed.
Meaning there's tons of beautiful masterpieces that don't appeal to the average normie that will be permanently shelved, all for the real life equivalent of YouTube algorithm engagement.
I really worry about what the future holds for artists. And what that means for consumers, as well.
Why make anything unique or contentious when art that appeals to the average consoomer is rewarded the most?

Don't worry, the same fate will happen to every single human this decade. You're not alone.

Cope. This shit is going to replace everything artistic that humans do in the same way that mechanization did. Instead of having dozens of people doing the art for something you'll have one art supervisor that makes sure the AI is working correctly. Soul has been absent from the west for decades and nobody cares.

One of the reasons I haven't killed myself yet is unironically to see how AI will fuck up humanity.

I hope you turn out to be right, but it sounds too optimistic for this world.

lol it really does show you how samefacey anime is when it can be made by an AI in a few minutes

You're way to optimistic, look at the images in that tweet, AI can do something as abstract as cartoonish art now, and this specific AI is barely a year old.
Apart from some bugs, the images are on professional level.

It's fucking over for creative work.
Human will have nothing left to create within our lifetimes.

doesn't dall e 2 create art in like 2 seconds?

AI mastered painting and realism before it did anime/cartoon art you fucking retard, this is the finale frontier.

Eh I don't really care, sure it can reproduce an art style but can it actually make anything meaningful out of it? You know for example what if you want to make an athletic tomboy anime girl?

yeah we're fucked
gg

An AI made this image of the MC/default player character from RuneScape and it looks higher quality and more realistic than the official art, let alone fanart. It'd probably take decades for a humie artist to be able to make this

I might be coping since I have dreams to work in a creative field and I want to imagine that there are things a robot can never "get" about humans. Maybe to the discerning eye art could look exactly the same between humans and robots and there'd be no reason to create art, but I think it'd just mean humans would adapt their art to be something a robot can't comprehend, if that makes sense. Sort of like how literature went from modernism to postmodernism, art could evolve in a new fashion in a post-AI art world.

I dunno. I just don't want to live in a world where robots steal all of our jobs and make all of our media and there's no reason for humans to exist except to consume whatever our machine overlords feed us.

come on, it's just picking already existing pictures and merging them together, big fucking thing

everything humans can comprehend, ai will in a more effective way

this aren't art - they're illustrations.
"illustration" is a skill, "illustrating humanity" is art
in fact, humanity is the whole point of art
that's why i'm a musician, man - it can't be replicated by anyone besides the person that made it.
a person has feelings. computers don't.

Not this one, all these are original, unique artworks.

You can keep telling yourself that. It's gonna get to a point where AI-generated content is indistinguishable from human-created.

It's already happened to music. There was a study somewhere that experts couldn't tell which composition came from an AI and which one was written by a musician.

>that's why i'm a musician, man - it can't be replicated by anyone besides the person that made it.
You already have AI that generates genre and band specific riffs and drums at a higher level than 99% of indie bands.

I use it a lot for the soundtrack of my game and it's fucking brilliant.
