My parents want me to get a loan to buy the house they are renting
I'm the only one with good enough credit and finances to get a loan, and they are constantly passive aggressive about the topic, they keep emotionally bombarding, manipulating and gaslighting me, to buy it for them
I won't even live there why the fuck are they asking me such a huge favor
anons, how the hell do I endure through this? I don't want to break under the pressure and get debt ony MY name for shit i don't even benefit from
I DESPISE THEM SO MUCH, they're incompetent, dumb, can't into budgeting, and rely on their son to get their stupid decisions corrected

I feel like just offing myself would be the easiest at this point, because if I don't buy the house I'll be the largest piece of shit on earth for some reason and will hear about it for the rest of my life, or if I do buy it, I'm financially fucked unless my parents realize they should pay me rent, which they will most likely laugh at, or they indeed do pay, but use it as leverage on me

How hard was it to get your financial habits into check, considering your parents are obvious fuck ups?

Tell them you'll do it, but only if they sign an official lease with you as the landlord and then charge them rent that's more than the cost you're paying on the mortgage.
If they refuse, tell them to pound sand and go through the eviction process.

Buy it and kick them out the down the line refuse to renew their lease and kick them out.

If it's honestly getting to you THAT much, then cut them off. By the sounds of it: They're financially fucked, so there's no inheritance in it for you. They're only going to drag you down OP.
Change your phone number or block them
Ignore any requests from them
If they show up at your place don't even interact with them, just call the cops to remove them.

Nah, it happens much more often than one may think. Mainly because ""Family"" often feels entitlement to special treatment just for bringing you into the world, raising you, etc. It's fucking stupid, but you're gonna have to make sure you have a lawyer go over everything and make sure it's all airtight legally so any breach of contract or lease you can immediately start the eviction process. They will no longer be "Your parents" they will be your tenants. Always remember that and most importantly...Don't pussy out.

The thing that's bothering me the most about this entire thing is they fail at making sensible decisions at a consistent rate, refuse to even listen to any helpful advice from me, fuck themselves over and then have the audacity to drag the one they should be supporting to find a future for himself, down with them
Also, I feel like my parents never had faith in me, were never truly invested either, since I post on Any Forums you can guess how successful I am socially (which apparently bothers them a lot), but still come to me and ask for shit when they need something, because my work ethic and budgeting skills are at least half decent.
That's all I'm good for. Money. And when they drain me and they get what they want, I'm once again classified as an embarrassment to them, something they can't showcase and boast about to their peers.

I like your post, has a lot in common with what I just wrote above and yeah, I should realize and finally justify to my conscience that if my parents don't view me as anything more than an ATM, why should I view them as family?
Either make them sign legal papers or just leave them behind forever.

Stay strong bro. You've got this. I honestly think the lowest hanging fruit and the easiest to deal with would be cutting them off, ghosting them and never interacting again. Going the landlord route MAY work, but if they get any whiff that they can continue to jerk you around, they're going to make your life hell and you're going to have exude a lot of effort to get them out (IE through the legal system). BUT if you have the gumption to go through with that, and you can put them in their place...You may actually walk out of this with some profit and a valuable commodity (Especially in this housing market).

Leaving them behind is what many people suggested in real life as well, and I've started taking some steps towards that in the last couple of months. Fuckin outta state or country, and live in peace with a blank slate. It does mean giving up the life I knew so far, forever, since I'll never be able to visit without hostility
I will postpone making the final decision for a bit however, so I can learn and get a clear understanding on what exactly happens upon purchasing the house, and what has to happen to avoid any complication, because there is much to lose here for going through with either of the two options.

Why are your parents poor? What did they do besides waste money?

Maybe help them find a low cost mobile home for 55+ or something. Those are usually pretty nice and very cheap. Still have to pay lot rent of like $300-$800 maybe, but they should be able to afford that. Maybe like chip in like 10k for the mobile and be done with them.

Idk your family situation but if they will be paying your mortgage via rent payments its a smart enough move.

user, there are many things that you help family with. when it comes to legally binding purchases, that is not one of the things you want to do with family. I don't give two shits how bad this is on your mental state, don't do it. cut them off if you must, but asking someone to literally BUY A HOUSE FOR YOU is ridiculous.

Even if you do it the fully legitimate and legally protected way as and suggest, they will continue to nag and give you hell as your tenants.
This won't solve the problem.

It's your financial standing at stake. If you're going to be assuming all the risk then you deserve to reap all the rewards. This entire thing sounds like a shitty deal for you.
