people posting about this sort of thing isn't anything to do with genuine progress in being open about mental health, the motivations behind the posters is to give themsleves character and make themselves interesting through their being in a psych ward and having some mental illness which is supposed to give them depth of character. They're trying to create a persona and give find an identity. Obviously i can't speak for all cases, but i'm a zoomer and this is true for 90% of the people that i know with "mental illness". And the other 10% who actually may be mentally ill, aren't the type who would post about it on tik tok/social media.
