well if you want to get REALLY good weed you need to get real specific with the levels of fertilizer you use, and the type of soil you grow in.I'm not at that point I just use miracle grow and some liquid nutrients, and i consistently get mid level shit.
not as good as store bought shit, but gets the job done.

its not like i get my hands on the real good shit here. I think i smoked mid level all my life so thats fine.

Then miracle grow potting soil will do you just fine, it has time release nutes that last months.

where did you learn that craft? Any tips or guides?

i looked up some basic stuff online but mostly just from my own experiences. i've had one crop be an almost total bust and gave me 400 grams of shitty unsmokeable popcorn buds. that can still be turned into oil but thats a pain in the ass so i haven't done it yet, and it's all just sitting in jars in a closet for 3 years.
If you are planning on growing inside i recommend an indoor grow tent (picrel), you can get one on amazon for like 100 bucks.
One thing that I did do was I kinda tracked my progress with a site called growdiaries.com/ I found someone growing the same strain as I did and compared my plants to theirs.

yea i have a few kinds of lights.
there are LEDs that don't kill the power bill but are very expensive initially.
I have a 1000 watt high pressure sodium rig that DOES add about $250 a month to my power bill, and it throws off a lot of heat, but it's basically a mini-sun.
