I played fire red/blu, all of the emerald gen, diamond, platinum and white. My favorite had to be white. I loved the new leveling system which made strategy so much more important than simply grinding levels.

I'll be 30 this year. My mom bought me that (and Gold, but I barely played it since it's virtually the same game) for my GBA like 20 years ago which is crazy to me now that I type it out; crazier too to this that she passed away last month so it's just one of those things showing me how much time has passed. That game really killed lots of time for me especially since when I got the game it was well before we had home internet (which didn't come for like 3-4 more years.)
Anyways, I loved that game. I put something like 950 hours into it grinding and leveling up my Pokemon to their max long after having beaten the game. I always kept a maxed out Poliwrath (for Surf,) Fearow (for Fly,) and Sandslash (for Cut and Dig) in my party.
