not that user but is there a law that says that and if so which is it? i dont doubt that docs are required to refer the patient to a specialist when theres an actual medical need but im surprised to hear such a requirement exists when theres no actual medical need

She doesn't want to have to potentially risk an abortion. I know a girl that had to get an abortion and it sucked for her. Get this, she had a positive pregnancy test but they wouldn't give her the abortion pill until the fetus grew more? I don't fucking get it. So she had to wait a week and suffer more pregnancy symptoms until the fetus was big enough to kill. Weird, right? She uses condoms and has no idea how it happened, either. That scares me, it could happen to me as well. I tell my boyfriend that he needs to get a vasectomy and he's open to it. Apparently it's easier for men to get a vasectomy than a woman to get her tubes tied. Pretty fucked up, right? Medical misogyny is real, I've had some disgusting, paternalistic doctors. I had one try and force me to consent to a pelvic exam or he wouldn't give me birth control (which you only need to measure blood pressure for). I went to a different doctor to get it. I was in college and needed an extremely safe option to prevent pregnancy. I rely on condoms and spermicide but I still worry about pregnancy. You cannot relate.
