If these two swapped companies, do you think the ratings would dramatically change either way?
Isaiah Reyes
Isaiah Brooks
AEW up
WWE down
Daniel Gray
AEW ratings would go up significantly. WWE would stay the same or drop a bit.
Connor Jenkins
Absolutely not. Smackdown would still be doing around 2 million and Dynamite would still be doing around 900 - 1mil. They might change a little bit but not a lot.
Michael Fisher
WWE ratings have dropped massively since Roman became face of the company. What makes you think AEW numbers would go up?
Evan Rodriguez
The shock of each in the other's promotions would be enough to drive interest. Shit, Thank Vince for bring wrestling back to the limelight.
I am Seeing wrestling content everywhere, even on normiebook. I've seen friends who I grew up with posting about WWE & AEW.
Things are good, at least for now.
Adrian Johnson
One is old and can't wrestle properly, the other is the most boring face of the company one could possibly imagine, shit would be the same
Brandon Foster
Because he's a far bigger deal than anyone they have. They have his jannetty as their top guy lmao.
Michael Brooks
I actually think that WWE's ratings would go up and AEW's would stay the same lol
Nicholas Scott
There would be brief increases for both programs that would quickly cease. CM Punk fans don't like WWE and Roman Reigns fans don't like AEW. They would briefly check out the program, realize that despite it having the guy they like, it's still the same program.
If Roman became the focal point of AEW the way he's the focal point of WWE, I think that would actually decrease AEW's ratings.
Justin Johnson
>CM Punk fans don't like WWE and Roman Reigns fans don't like AEW.
I think a lot of this is tribalism though rather than actual subjective taste, especially with the hardcore Roman fans.
Jaxson Cook
>hardcore Roman fans
All pakis and pajeets, WWE's main target in the last 15 years.
Blake Thompson
With many other talent, I would probably agree, but not with these two particular talent. If you like CM Punk, you probably dislike the way he was booked in WWE and I doubt what the program does right now is going to appeal to you, and if you like Roman Reigns, Roman Reigns' current act and the way he wrestles is about as disparate from AEW as it gets.
Jaxson Davis
I've always wondered what would Roman look like outside of the WWE system. He can do whatever gimmick he wants. Would it be the same as now where's just a shit talker/cocky guy?
Landon Richardson
I feel like punk would be a boost to WWE because a lot of his fans stopped watching wrestling since he left. And he's nostalgia bait at this point.
I don't think Roman would impact aew too much. I feel like all the WWE fans who watch Aew are already watching aew. I don't think many more would continuously watch just because of Roman. Like others have said, maybe an initial pop, but it would die down fast.
Aiden Anderson
Both would increase, would be interesting, and not like anything stops anyone from watching both
Kevin Young
No
Jeremiah Perez
I quit watching wrestling for 10 years, not just wwe, when they started pushing punk more. Sure romans boring. Sure the bloodlines played out. Sure the "will they wont they?" with roman and his jew is annoying at this point. Sure nobody can actually tell the usos apart. But he's benign. Punk is malignant. He hates the business, he got his shit pushed in against two cans and then again by two weekend warriors, he showed his face after years of hiding on twitter only to be laughed off a talk show dedicated to fake fighting, he went back into hiding when a company built on pleasing the sorts of fans that actually gave a shit about him popped up and only came out to play with them after they became an established brand, he popped one night in his hometown then slowly chopped away at rampages ratings til they were half the benchmark he set for himself, after he did that he stole the belt off AEWs first home grown champion, then immediately got hurt. If i was an AEW fan id probably hate the guy even more than i do. He doesnt have the looks. All his promos are the same. He's married to a locker room bike, which is even more impressive than it sounds on her part, because at the ripe old age of 28 she managed to fuck up her neck for good. Lord knows how she managed to find time to do that when she was busy following in her husbands footsteps, whining about the largest promotion on earth making you their world champion. But this isnt about AJ. This is about punk and roman trading places. I guarantee both companies would be worse off for it
Joseph Myers
Probably not since neither show is booked well. If you let them do what they are good at both would go up massively
Isaac Perez
This is some peak Punk Derangement Syndrome
Connor Johnson
Imagine both just being miserable on the other show. Dimes.
