I've met plenty of people who are more educated than me, more knowledgeable, more experienced in certain areas, more practiced. When that happens, if it's something relevant or interesting, I'll listen and process it. If it's a skill, I'll internally analyze it, critique it, and find a way to do it better. Though that will usually take a few tries.

But I've never met someone smarter than I am. Most people are dumb as fucking rocks (as you well know), and even the clever ones are still pretty dull to me. How would you even know? Actually smart people don't go around advertising it, so you have to be around them a lot before it starts becoming obvious through a collection of evidence. That's never happened to me. Usually what happens is I discover they're actually of average or low-average intelligence overall; and as soon as I've grasped whatever they previously knew that I did not, I'm doing it better. My problem-solving abilities are something I have never known anyone to be able to touch with a ten-foot pole. Half the time it feels like I'm trying to explain algebra to kindergarteners.
