When I used to wear glasses, they were sorta like the NPC ones, but not as tall. Got my vision corrected with PRK though. My eyesight is around 20/10 now (Yeah, better than the legal baseline 20/20).
I don't get why everyone doesn't look up a cheap place and do the same? You're literally perfectly correcting a common handicap, with no side effects. It's one of the safest and most reliable 'surgeries' in existence and it takes minutes. Do PRK instead of LASIK though if you don't want a permanent cut in the lower layer of your eye.

considered it, scheduled an eye exam appointment in a couple weeks because i'm pretty sure my vision has gotten worse in the last 1.5 years and i need a new prescription

Idk how old you are, but years ago my eye doc told me your vision stabilizes are 20 yrs old. So it is important to make sure it's not still changing, but when you know it's not, you're basically good to go as long as the other guy (giving you the PRK/LASIK) also gives you the green light.
