The Curse, Bonny Ship the Diamond, and The Wellerman are all fucking bangers
Bones in the Ocean is some of the best music of all time
The Wellerman and The Curse are my second and fourth favourite Shanties respectively
none of you have ever set food on a boat
I have sang sea shanties during actual harsh weather in an actual sailboat before, what do you mean
>t. sails for sport
some of the so called "sea shanties" are also marching music for infantry and laborer's
this
imagine gatekeeping fucking sea shanties lol
pirate music yarrrr youtube.com
Zoomers on tiktok were into sea shanties a long time ago. Over a year ago. Even celebs were getting in on it.

I could spend days finding all the sea shanty shit that was posted during that time frame.
yeah that wasn't that long ago, it was way too short lived sadly
i was the reason it blew up in 2021
i listened it so often so many times a day it started getting recommended to people around the world and a couple weeks later it blew up
youre right though, fuck these shanty normies that followed the trend from tiktok and other shitter social medias
the curse is my favorite from the longest johns, but you guys should check out the dreadnoughts and the jolly rogers

From what I recalled it wasn't really a big trend and the only song they used was The Wellerman
Never been on a really big ship except at port but I've been on a ton of smaller to medium sized ships cause I grew up in a a rural and coastal town
it was a huge trend for a little while, the longest johns blew the fuck up and it got super widespread coverage on news outlets and such
it was a really big deal before people got bored of it
Curse is my third favourite even though technically it has nothing to do with the sea and about infantry
How do we feel about Filk music? Basically sci-fi sea shanties.
youtube.com
sea shanties can be about whatever
the curse is an incel anthem technically
What is the song the trailer park boys song is parodied from called? Was listening to it the other night with a guy from my building but I was too drunk and forgot the name it's been driving me insane ever since.
I feel like The Curse is very ambiguous though no?
the word Captain applies to both infantry and sea life, same for cannons, crew, and a few others
scuppers is a particularly naval terminology, too
>dreadnoughts
HOOPAH!
Classic
I found it
He says "red coat" which is very specific to British infantry but is right ig
Wellerman
are there different versions of it or some shit?
I have actually set food in a boat.
Filk is maximum comfy to me. Something about working-class sci-fi man, I don't know what it is.
Shit I'm thinking of Cruel Wars my bad. You're right
The only problem I have with filk is a lot of filkers are commies.
