>user, that's impossible
>there's no way you only make $45k/yr as a coder of 7 years
why do people say this? it's above average income. what's so hard to believe about it?
User, that's impossible
there are too many coders than there were in early 2000s, if everybody had above average incomde, no one would!
>7 years
>45k
You should be doing 145k
it makes no sense because usually software engineers make 70k starting, even if they never went to school.
you're not "coding" most likely, or you're just stupid. even a bank or retail company would pay you more.
>You should be doing 145k
according to who? i don't understand
>it makes no sense because usually software engineers make 70k starting, even if they never went to school.
who invents these fake statistics?
>you're not "coding" most likely, or you're just stupid.
yeah it's always this "you must be stupid then" goofiness. yet i graduated from the top ranked university in my state, and i am self-taught and it's the only job i have ever had
>even a bank or retail company would pay you more
i can't just get a job at a bank
and retail does not pay more at all, i've seen the ads
again, my income is like $10k more than the average
You graduated to make 10k more than the average, here in Germany where IT is paid bad you get 45k euros starting if you graduate in a free college or university. Your completely chucked imagine paying for Uni, working many years just to make less than some average guy thats fresh out of free university in a country that pays bad and slightly pre taxes.
I bought some webdev fullstack courses
also
>solidity
>JS
>C++
>Python
They were cheap, and I had the money.
Will it be enough to make at least 80k USD in C00nada?
>You graduated to make 10k more than the average
is that not better than making 10k less, or being unemployed?
>here in Germany where IT is paid bad you get 45k euros starting if you graduate in a free college or university.
the government tells companies that they have to pay their employees that much at least, if they have a degree?
i make $45k per year after 7 years of webdev
me. I made 60k in my internship and 80k as a full time hire.
>made 60k in my internship and 80k as a full time hire.
i made $14/hour in my internship. but that was like 7 years ago (i started right after my 21st birthday)
maybe people just get paid more where you live
I also get benefits, I should mention.
Rent's $1500 here. how much is it where you live?
i live with my parents now because i started working remotely.
and that all depends on the location, really. i never saw it under $800 but yeah it can definitely get to $1,500 and well over that
find some fintech company man. start applying to other places, you genuinely should be making at least 3.5x your salary
No its just marked IT personal is wanted. But someone that makes 70k here will get job offers of 200k from Microsoft if he has good connections. Also going into R and D will get you to 100k in 7 years.
>you genuinely should be making at least 3.5x your salary
why not 1,000,000 per year?
>if he has good connections
i feel like this is the determining factor in all of it
You don't sound inspired enough. $200k/year is just the goldilocks range a senior web developer should get.
>You don't sound inspired enough.
I've never been fired and technically I have worked for 5 different companies
they simply don't offer these massive salaries
>$200k/year is just the goldilocks range a senior web developer should get
according to who? it actually makes sense that it sits around the average income, since there are so many people that know how to code. i mean all that information is literally free online for anyone that wants it! why would they pay a coder $200k per year if someone else would do it for half that much? $200k a year is a fuckton. if i made $200k per year i could just retire for life after 5 years
Half no, they'd just outsource you to an indian for much less.
You know what. If you're making silly and wacky javascript animations, then yeah you deserve your salary.
If you're working on framework or creating some new system that's different, then you should make much more. That's all I have to say.
I see things in glassdoor.
>If you're working on framework or creating some new system that's different, then you should make much more. That's all I have to say.
i am converting outdated software used by the military to be modernized (using a js framework). there are no animations. it's just people filling out forms and submitting them to update the database, and tables, and all that shit. there is no room for creativity. there are very important rules that have to be followed. buttons have to be in exact spots and say exact things, and do exact things. there is no room for change, any change has to get approved because boomers in the military follow very simple picture-based instructions on where to click (and even what hotkeys to press) and it has to work exactly the same. but all the code has to be rewritten because the original system is outdated and full of bugs
everyone wants an easy office job now
earning $45k to sit at a computer is comfy no matter how you look at it
>$90k after 2 years
autism has perks
