Japan simply has almost no crime; it would be quite strange for rape to be the only crime that occurs a lot.

I really read a lot of this Japanese teens' love shit with rapey love interests, and the point of the stories is that they tend to very effectively narrate the mixed feelings of the protagonist, who at one point isn't ready for it, but is also pushed over lines but still somewhat enjoys it; it's honestly quite exciting.
It can also be seen in o.p.'s picture that the victim still has somewhat of a mixed expression of enjoyment, or in mine.

It's about being pushed further than one is comfortable with, not outright rape. It's as how a rollercoaster is exciting because it feels somewhat dangerous and unsafe, even though one isn't in any real danger.

I did read some Japanese articles where they asked people who were kabedonned what they thought of it, and those that liked it did often describe that it was exciting because they felt they could't run away even if they wanted to and they enjoyed the slight sense of danger.
