Why is dropping out of high school looked down upon so much, at least in the US? Some people just genuinely aren't cut out for that shit. If we were more accepting of it then picrel along with a ton of other incidents wouldn't have happened.

Because its high school. It's not a difficult curriculum by any means. Dropping out of education because of social pressures shows a lack of discipline and work ethic. Education can be continued in private at home if its so desired. But people who drop out dont do that. My sister just stays up til 3am with her friends on discord and draws furry vore fora living since she dropped out.

some people just arent cut out for education in general or like me were too depressed to even give a shit about high-school or education in general and ended up just dropping out

u should give me ur sisters discord btw

>furry vore for a living
people pay good money for lewd art. If she's managing/ever manages to be independent then dropping out of high school was the right choice by far.

Protip: High school is absolutely meaningless unless you have money to drop on a fancy college.
Otherwise, your best bet is to get into a CC then transfer to decent Uni.

does any place really care if you have a diploma anymore? doesnt seem like it

High school literally takes too long.
It should end 10th grade, you literally have to wait until your 18 taking classes you don't give a fuck about and fail and get held back so you drop out.
College is a million times better

Just because you are depressed and apathetic is no excuse to become a ludite simpleton simpyl living off a series of short dopamine highs.
I dont fault her for her choice in career im glad she's able to use her talent for money but I resent her for not at least slight erudite.

Literally the only requirement to graduate is to have a pulse and show up at least half of the time. If you seriously cannot manage to do even that without a damn good reason (feeling sad does not count) then do not act shocked if you are not exactly treated with a ton of respect or taken seriously. That is not to say there are not a mountain of issues with the school system because it is indeed fucked, but dropping out of what is basically teenager daycare is not exactly a good or halfway smart way to go about things.

human beings are very religious by nature

No. Any employer that requires a HS degree doesn't care enough to ask for proof.

I don't think it should be. Coming from EU I've experienced the US high school experience and it's soooo much more than just edication. the social pressure can really get to you.

Ultimately trade schools and always should be an option to people for a 'decent' life.

I'm also from a perspecgive those who want to work low skilled 9-5 job should live a dacent life which in current times is becoming less and less a reality.

you can sour grapes HS all you want, but if you drop out and can't immediately pass the GED you're a brainlet and, unless you're a female, its over.

Getting any job without a GED is pretty hard
I do think our education needs a reform though. We shouldn't all be forced through random bullshit math classes most of us will never use again. We should incorporate trades into schools as well as other alternatives for things like math and english

Taken from a practical justifications that's true, just show up and you'll graduatre. But 'feeling sad' is a valid consideration why some are not finishing... It can be quite a challenge to show up when every cell of your existance is telling you otherwise and modern life does not consider for it. I don't pretend to have a 'true answer' to the problem, but I truly belive problem exists. I also believe prople who claim 'feeling sad' is insignificant have never been in such situation.

>Why is dropping out of high school looked down upon so much, at least in the US?
High school is ridiculously easy to finish and not having a HS education means you are pretty much destined to be poor.

it always cracks me up when people complain about having to learn math they'll never use again, and they're struggling in fucking algebra.

i worked at a place that verified all education. caused tons of problems because its minnesota and these shit jobs are mostly filled by somalians and other refugees, they'd have these guys waiting on their background checks for weeks without hearing from some HS in territory held by boko haram or isis and then let them know it wouldn't fucking work out.

cant really get any jobs anywhere in the west unless you have a diploma which even then its not enough
unless you are going for the military
>pray to god you arent in america tho
canada is where its at
join the leaf army and breeze thru it and then after get a job in the private sector

>it always cracks me up when people complain about having to learn math they'll never use again, and they're struggling in fucking algebra.
I did really well in math courses in school, but my point remains that other than basic algebra and geometry, I haven't had cause to use any of it again. Meanwhile I could have been learning accounting or some other substitute. Why did I need to learn how to graph a parabola or factor polynomials? I'm 26 and have never done either of those again after graduating

The answer is getting a pair of balls for once in your life, high school requires absolutely nothing from you to pass. I was a turbo nihilistic mess up until my Senior year and I still managed to complete it without any fuss. Take it from someone who got raped and received herpes as a kid alongside growing up in a dysfunctional home with a BPD mother and a lazy deadbeat dad who nearly got us homeless multiple times from pure economic retardation if you want to discuss sad feelings, I highly doubt you went through something that fucked you up so badly you cannot get through teenager daycare as awful as it is.

I mean it's pretty dead easy to pass High school. I was arrested twice, got suspended every year of my HS career, was in the high risk students pool for most of my junior year and smoked a crap ton of weed yet I still graduated with like a 2.7. Our education system is designed to the point that all you have to do is show up and do like half of your assignments to pass

They let people with down syndrome graduate with the same diploma as the rest of us and in most states you have to be 18 to drop out so the only people who don't finish are people who couldn't be bothered to show up.

The only time I've had to prove it when I tried a bricklaying class. Most of the jobs I've had either didn't require it or never asked.

let me tell you, back in 2006 i used conic sections to build a parabolic reflector for a wifi antenna to steal internet from my neighbor. I got access to Any Forums and, well, I'm still here.

they actually force trade schools to verify so kids don't drop out of high school to learn simple trades. Some farrier school in california got sued for teaching mexican HS dropouts to shoe horses.

>learning about parabolas means you'll end up stuck on Any Forums
All the more reason to have other options in school
