>son was born in September >wife was working a corporate, NYC-based job until then >granted maternity leave until February 14 >raising a newborn was tough, but we love him >wife's leave starts coming to a close >start looking for daycare >pick fancy one that costs $2,300/month >sad that we will be sending him but tell ourselves a bunch of copes (e.g. the socialization will be good for him, there will be more structure, they'll teach him things, etc.) >been sending him the past three days, and frequently looking at his room's livestream >it's a nightmare >they make no effort to nurture the babies >my son is often left unattended laying on the floor screaming and crying for minutes at a time >they only make half-assed attempts to feed him and put him down for naps >their "activities" are just manufactured photoshoots with the babies to make it look like they do shit >for example, they sent a pic of my son holding blocks and said he was learning to play with them, when I know for a fact they posed him there for two seconds and then threw him aside >my wife and I feel terrible for him >we start doing calculations and realize we could scrape by on just my income >wife is 99% sure she's gonna quit her job and become a stay-at-home mom because apparently the best daycares still suck
Well boys, looks like I'm about to be one step closer to achieving the tradwife dream.
Becoming the only worker and living on one income for your hog wife to become a lazy lard ass. Too stupid to get a new daycare for your autistic kid? Tradwife dream kek

Damn being a parent sounds scary. Good luck.
Hudson Ross
Unfortunately we bought into all the copes people put out there. That babies weren't meant to be raised solely by the parents, etc. Perhaps that's right, but back in the day it was extended family in multigenerational households who were helping out, not underpaid randos at a daycare.
I don't understand how so many people are comfortable sending their kids to daycare. We feel like total shit.
Hunter Flores
Thanks. Yea, it's been pretty stressful. This experience has only exasperated things.

How can you sleep at night knowing you're responsible for another human being?
Thomas Thomas
Why are you posting this on this board?
Aaron Martin
Normiefags have the stupidest excuses for being here.
Jaxson Thompson
It's easy when the other human being doesn't sleep through the night yet. I guarantee I've been posting on Any Forums longer than either of you.
Daniel Morris
You could have just had one of your parents look after the kid. They have a vested interest since they probably love their grandson. At least I hope they do
Austin Bennett
>I don't understand how so many people are comfortable sending their kids to daycare.
Your wife has to drop her job to provide thus daycare. Surely you can think of a situation where a couple/single parent wouldn't have the same opportunity and would therefore need to rely on this right?
Easton Myers
Why on this board, known for lonely men? You posted this as bait knowing it would piss off users of this board
Owen Sanders
People say this as if everyone's parents live close to them and aren't working. Ours are 1.5 hours away, plus only two of them are retired. Yea, I understand that. But I work with attorneys who make plenty of money for one parent to stay home. Yet they don't do this. This being the "lonely men" board wasn't its original purpose.
Aaron Turner
> knowing it would piss off users of this board delusional
Chase Garcia
Does that still apply? Is whatever original purpose still the purpose of the board?

Yea, if anything they should make users without kids feel relieved that they don't have to go through this shit. I'm an originalist, so yes.
