Used to subscribe to it, until I realized it was hijacked by hedonists that do not want kids because they are against the suffering that it would bring, but because they don't want any ties to anything in order to keep pursuing their fruitless pleasures.

I'm still a bit of an antinatalist, though. I think no one that isn't able to raise a child should have a child. I won't have a child.

Maybe try basing your beliefs on critical thinking and not whether they are popular with people you don't like. You can soundly come to the conclusion that having children is immoral without using it as a justification for hedonism or tolerating hedonists. A Buddhist monk, for example, might consider children a fetter and still swear off worldly pleasures. Think for yourself, memes already think for enough people.

Anti natalists basically think "life is suffering" because of problems in some other part of the world, and thus won't have children for that very reason, which doesn't really make sense first of all. I also disagree that breeding is selfish, but whatever

How? Creating life just so you can force yourself upon it, your customs, laws, rules, all just so you can have yet another in a slew of people similar to you? Or in the end when they don't turn out to be exactly how you planned you resent them for it? Its selfish to want a child because along with having a child you plan to parent. Its selfish for you to assume your child should have any life it did not choose. Even if you say "Fuck it, guess it can be an orphan" Its even more selfish to bring life into the world and pin it on someone else, as if you weren't the reason why this came to be. You can't even be responsible enough to take care of it? Especially children born out of "love". Let me reword, then. I used to subscribe to antinatalism until I thought it through and concluded it was mostly a justification that would lead to hedonism, etcetera.

I wrote I still hold to some antinatalist views, user, and that I do not want to beget any children. It's just that I've thought about it more and concluded that making children is not that bad if you can actually provide for them and be a good father.

There would be no need for antinatalism if we didn't have bad parents.
