There are people on Any Forums RIGHT NOW who believe they could take on a fully trained professional fighter just because they can bench more.

I could probably handle Steven Seagal. He's fat and Aikdo isn't a real martial art.

You wouldn't stand a ghost of a chance

but what if I don't flop over the second he touches me?

My favorite thing about him is that he almost isn’t in on the joke. He knows (must know) that he’s hiring these martial artists as actors, that he is weak, fat, and out of shape, but every interview, every appearance, he behaves like an A-list chad who does all his own real stunts.

Gives off Trump vibes

No i don’t. I know even amateurs with a higher skill level can mop the floor with me

However size remains an advantage

nononono they don't do that here.
Real answer is: actually the oldschool guys would just beat and kick you until you're in the position for the throw or the waza stuff they're about to do. But oldschool is pretty dead nowadays, because of safe training and the mc dojo culture that emerged since the late 70s because of the china kung fu movie trends.

So I guess Steven Seagal would just.. well, I think he would stop and respect you as an equal human being because you're too solid

I do 1 hour of weight lifting and 2 hours of boxing 5 days a week. I already am fighting professionals in my spars a few days a week.
But go right ahead OP, suck more dicks over there, I know what I am capable of.

Then you show everybody that you don't know martial arts fool

without the flashy wide movements made for movies. Watch some pressure fighting like boxing, MMA or even street fights. You are better off with fast direct punches than a wide and slow range of motion. But yeah, I guess that's the spirit anyways, Thanks user

Still don't think Seagal is legit. I mean he might have been in his younger days and even have real fighting experience but now he is some old untrained blob.

I used to train aikijujutsu years ago and even if it quite a meme martial art, it always had some kind of painful hit to loosen up your body and make you get into position before aplying stuff from aikido.
Even if it doesn't prepare you to actually fight, at least it helps to know how intense pain feels like so you don't panic and to fall and roll relatively safely (which has been useful for me, as I am pretty clumsy and reckless).
Demonstrations are always fake (obviously) but I always have had the impression that in aikido there is a lot of cooperation from the opponent.

There's no opponent in Aikido since there is no competition in Aikido, in Aikido there's the "Top" and "Bottom" (Tori and Uke) they agree on what they practice before hand.

Your'e right. After I posted I noticed my mistake.
As I understand, Aikido is like a distillation of the principles of the samurai martial arts (supposedly. there is a lot of myth and bullshit there). It is so bare bones it is not even about fighting. The principles are valid, but it is almost a dance now
There's nothing wrong about that. Just be aware of what you are looking at or learning about and be sure you throw in some striking training in there.

(these captchas make me doubt I'm human sometimes)

rent free

>I do 1 hour of weight lifting and 2 hours of boxing 5 days a week
nobody cares about that

Is a wing chun dummy worth training with even the art itself is bullshit?

Don't reply to bait, user. He clearly should spend less time boxing and more time reading.
