Fuck i saved thumbnail

social media destroyed everything, theres only like 3 different versions of people now

The internet diluted them to the point of being unrecognizable. Subcultures don't really exist anymore in the traditional sense because there is no barrier of entry anymore.

Because smartphones homogenized everything so much that nobody wants to stick out, even as a part of a bigger group. Everything new is immediately memed and made fun of.

you're just speaking for yourself
but because 2014.
2014 was the beginning of the end in relative terms ofc that began for people a longer time ago
in 2014 you get elliot rodgers and the absolute hate of non trump and then to this sorry date

emos are just a form of joker now not even punk

"sub culture" ironic it's just creative people not really allowed to do it so it comes off awkward and in it's own meta

>Because smartphones homogenized everything
Almost.

You forgot the rapid and almost immediate commercialization of everything, and the death of the gatekeepers.

then they basically just got turned into trannies or something

I don't know why people don't talk about Gen Z dudes who would be your average skinny nerd in the 00s/90s but in this generation they're trannies.

>smartphones homogenized everything
why can't that shit be made illegal yet?

The second you point out all the awful shit they're the cause of people call you a boomer cuz "they totally said the same thing about TV and you just hate change and new things"

Smartphones are quite literally why humans stopped interacting with each other in real time face to face. Comparing it to a TV might be accurate but it's very misleading. It's like comparing a ADHD kid who has a Ritilin prescription vs someone who is a hard core meth addict.

Everything has been done already. Anything you will do now is ripping off an old thing that already happened.

They all got absorbed by the hipsters in the early 2010s, and now teenagers define themselves on politics

>Why do they seem to not be as prominent anymore?
everything is one big homogeneous subculture

instead of few huge subcultures we now have countless tiny subcultures because of the internet so you just can't see them.
The people on the pic would each be in their own niche group today that only exists online

I recommend reading all three in order.

>instead of few huge subcultures we now have countless tiny subcultures because of the internet
Are you really that dumb?

It's disturbing how EVERY male under 20 has the zoomer perm.
Have trends ever been that bad that all of them get it, no exceptions?

>"they totally said the same thing about TV"
they were right, TV is a horrible influence on the world

Socrates said that the written word was bad

We exchanged the electric jew for the portable tracking spying glownigger jew. It's nearly impossible to function in modern society without phones. They are the mark of the beast and no one noticed it, and think it's some faggot harmless vaccine for a faggot harmless virus.

Honestly nothing will beat the 2010's hairstyle in terms of gayness

>Have trends ever been that bad that all of them get it, no exceptions?

People from different parts of the city used to have their own look. Now every looks and dresses the same.

Wasn't it one footballer who got that and then just spread like wildfire.

there's still subcultures just less of them,
one example would be motorcycle/car culture, these guys stick out like a sore thumb and everyone finds it impossible to associate with suck people because you need either vast amounts of knowledge, great passion to learn or appreciate what exists in these subcultures and not everyone can enter if they really want to.
for example to become a moto dude:
>you need to learn about every type of motorcycle
>choose a type you're interested more into
>learn alot of technical things and how to turn a wrench
>buy a motorcycle obviously
most normies can't tell the difference between a ring spanner and a regular spanner, and the barrier for entry keeps them out, i'd assume there's many other subcultures with a high entry barrier.

Lack of gatekeeping and fast homogenization thanks to the Internet. Also, they haven't disappeared, they have just evolved: They have been absorbed by the gamers, the furries and the LGBT.

Now that's an interesting one. Are you saying that old subcultures have just become more extreme in an attempt to distance themselves from homogenisation? As the internet grew more and more popular, people who wanted to be alternative sank deeper into vile depravity to escape the encroaching normie plague? And then that's where we got speedrunning trannies.
