I work a job where instead of having set hours, I go job to job, my days are typically tightly packed, but I usually have a spare 20 minutes to 2 hours every other day. I used to use those to just take a long lunch, but now I munch on healthy snacks between jobs and spend any large amount of time swimming.

This is good for everything. The more time you find to swim, the more you're taking care of cardio while simultaneously recovering from conditioning.
