I would argue that societal parameters have changed. The main reasons why society was patriarchal and monogamous was because men were indispensable as soldiers and workers, women couldn't perform male physical labour jobs and because population growth was much more linked to a societies survival. Today one 150iw software engineer is worth more to society than 10 80 IQ men. Of course sexual selection is still stuck in the prehistoric age, so while we are selecting, we are not very good at selecting.

I genuinely feel if I ask a girl out, there is a 10% chance my life will be ruined (ie. fired from job and ostracized). Also, i wouldn't know how to go about it, so I have never asked a girl out. I still try to make friends with people, and women end up being a subset of those people.

I think everyone has their own preference, and that everyone should be free to live their own preferred system. I think for me, personally; I just want a one and done relationship. I think if the world was 60/40 split on monogamy vs more fluid relationships, that would probably be the best split. Objectively, if there was monogamous relationships there would obviously be less incels, but thats not necessarily an optimal split for females. It has to be a balance.

Wouldn't say that directly, since intelligence correlates with money and attraction, but it also doesn't improve because women select for other parameter first and foremost. Imo the main thing that causes the incel epidemic is that the societal weight of men decreases. Today, a woman can do most jobs a man would do equally or better (especially at lower levels due to being less competitive) eg. Women make for better corporate drones on average. This means the needs of women societally take prevalence before the needs of lower tier men, because they have more societal influence.
