guns dont instantly drop somebody unless you hit the brain or obliterate them with a 50, even a heart hit takes a bit of time because there is still oxygen in the system

they have little stopping power because the only things that really stops people is being dead or unable to move their appendages so unless you can hit somebody in a vital area its going to take them time to bleed out and the pain is going to throw them into adrenaline survival mode where basically their body no longer gives half a fuck about protecting itself because death is imminent anyways
