2pl8 means 2 plates on each side (4 plates in total) and not 1 plate on each side (2 in total)

>2pl8 means 2 plates on each side (4 plates in total) and not 1 plate on each side (2 in total)

This is a reasonable milestone to hit after a year of training.

>1pl8 means 1 plate on each side (2 plates in total) and not just 1 plate on one side and nothing on the other side (1 in total)
WHAT. THE. FUCK. DYELBROS.

I'm so close...so close bros...

How do you picture doing 1 plate?

How much would I need to be able to bench to bench 1 plate on one side? I imagine it would actually be pretty hard, harder than the same amount of weight equally balanced.

Interesting question
Any physicsfags know the answer to this one?

I pictured it as the plates on each side adding up to one full plate

its called shovel bench ,shovel press, shovel row

I lift two plates for reps (they are both on the right side)

to lol
perchance to lmao

Unless you're a powershitter there's no reason to go beyond 2pl8. Deadlift is the only exception since you'll progress with it much faster.

Standard 7' barbell has 52'' (132cm) long shaft length. If you view your right hand as the anchor, the 20kg weight will have a torque of ~194Nm. Your left hand would need to push with 14.715N of force to counteract this, which is exactly 1.5 times the earth's gravitational force.

A 20kg weight would feel like 30kg.

2pl8 means 1pl8 each side you cat shit
>1+1=2

There's no reason to deadlift more than 400lbs either.

why would I not go further?

You need to row 1pl8 with other hand to stabilize missing pl8 and push 1pl8 using other hand

How heavy plates do you guys use?

Checked

I only use 5lb plates. They are the best cost to weight plates and 4pl8+ is easier

My porcelain plates weight like 200g

Just whatever's around you know
If it's more convenient I'll put a 10lb on the left and a 35lb on the right for my 1pl8 one rep max

>counting the first pl8
no 2pl8s means 3 pl8s on each side. lmao2pl8s means 2 pl8s on each side, fucking newfag
