High Blood Pressure

How can I lower my high blood pressure?
The doctor told me I’m 140/80 today. I’m 6’ 193 and lost 60 lbs.
If I take medication for it, will it hurt my lifting?

Do more cardio, light cardio is great for this.
Fork putdowns X F

More cardio, especially long low intensity training is the key. Also stop smoking and watch your sodium intake and cholesterol levels, despite /fit shizos telling you otherwise
t. fixed high blood pressure without ever taking pills

booba

my blood pressure is 120/60 also 45 average bpm, i run twice a week, one easy, one to death

barely

My dad cured his high blood pressure with keto.

perfect

eat less fat
eat more veggies
eat less red meat

I think it all comes down to more cardio honestly. You can change your diet and exercise but cardio is the key

Eat more potassium and less sodium. No salt is good for this. If you get on blood pressure medicine it can be dangerous if it's potassium sparing though as then your blood pressure can get too low

It'll probably normalize with some cardio and a low sodium diet, you barely have hypertension, don't worry yet. Later, if needed, you can take medication, unless you take spironolactone or something with endocrine action your lifts should be okay.

Thats a good heart rate for so little cardio. How many miles do you clock on your easy and hard runs?

140/80 isn't much of an issue.

Okay so what about low blood-pressure? I get dizzy easily after heavy squats or dead-lifting, and it's worst when I haven't gotten good sleep.

More sodium and potassium. Bone broth and dark leafy greens. Salmon and some other fish as well

Is tilapia good?

I also supplement fish oik

Getting dizzy after heavy squats, Ohp, or Deadlift isn't too abnormal. Blood pressure rapidly rises during the lifts then drops off afterwards. Sometimes resulting in syncope.

I have a medical history of low blood pressure, I'm just stating that as an example of real-world consequence.

I get more sodium than I could possibly need. I take supplements to cover those other things, though I should eat more leafy greens.

Don't know what to tell you then man. Sorry. I have moderately elevated blood pressure (130/60) and I get dizzy after heavy squats and Deadlifts too. The more reps, the worse it gets. Some of it is likely me over bracing though like I'm doing a heavy single when doing sets of 10
