I accidentally did this wrong until today (3 months since I started lifting). Always did close grip instead of "normal" bench. Used a wider grip today and it went up by 15kg.
Im probably retarded as is my chest.

It's hard to balance, what's the advantage to pushdowns/skull crushers

my triceps is double the size of my biceps, I don't need more triceps.
t.manlet with short arms

That's the correct proportions. Your arm should be 2/3rds triceps and 1/3rd biceps

Weighted Dips is all you need

You train your stabilizers

I did the same thing, benched for months and kept going up slowly.
Finally realised and did a normal weight grip and start going up faster.
My triceps did get pretty juicy but my pecs are still pathetic

I do this all the time and have shit triceps.

I'm beginning to think that free weight exercises just can't hit triceps in a real effective way. I do literally every free weight tricep exercise twice a week and mine are still flat as fuck, especially compared to my biceps because they're so easy to hit cleanly.

I thought close grip was for your pecs and delts and the wider grip is for triceps?

you thought wrong bitch

Have you ever set foot in a gym?

Weighted ring dips.

>Not doing JMPress
>Not doing Skull crushers

Its like you want small triceps .

>wide for triceps

Gimme hug retardofren :3

LMAO

What are good close grip bench numbers? I do 170lbs 3x10 once a week and it's like the hardest lift of my week honestly. I do extremely close grip too a lot closer than OP image maybe like 6" apart but don't know if that's better or if you go too close it no longer targets triceps properly.

It's not really about weight, its more about squeezing and feeling the tricep working
I'd say you can lift half your regular bench press and you should be good
